Initially the scanner came with wrong adapter wire. I contacted the seller who replaced it promptly. Prior to my buying this scanner I made some queries with the seller who was very helpful in providing information and assured me that in case I was not happy with the product I could return the same for a full refund. That was great. I have used the scanner for just two days so I cant really say much except that so far it is running very well. For an old and used scanner it is doing a decent job. Specially since I am still in the learning mode. Overall I am very happy with the purchase.

This is the fastest scanner I have ever used. Being able to drop a stack of papers in, and not worry about it they are double-sided or not (it automatically detects and scans both sides!) is just great. The software is fine, too. Before, I used to dread scanning because it would take forever, but this scanner is faster than my fast printer. And it is tiny and looks nice. And it works perfectly with Macs, including with the latest Leopard 10.5 OS, which is more than I can say about most scanners. I cant imagine how anyone would be disappointed by it.

If you have Snow Leopard, or planning to upgrade dont buy this scanner. It was great until I upgraded to Snow Leopard now its just a paper weight. I cant use it until they come out with an update to fix it. Fujitsu says it could be until the end of December before I could use it again. Hopefully its fix before tax time because that was the reason I bought this thing.

I bought this scanner from Amazon just before Christmas after reading many reviews. I must say it was hard to spend $495 on a scanner when you can buy a cheap one for $79. But wow, am I glad I spent the cash. This scanner rocks, especially with the bundled OCR software. Abbyy FineReader is a little slow, even on my dual-core 2.4Ghz MacBook Pro, but by that I mean it takes about 10 seconds per page to produce a fully-searchable PDF. The scanner itself rips through a page in less than two seconds (both sides!), so FineReader becomes the bottleneck if you you want to OCR a large number of documents. But its not like you have to stand there and supervise. Just dump a stack of papers in the feeder, press the button and walk away. If you value your time, buy this scanner. Some people have asked how well it scans photos. Great! The ScanSnap software includes the option to scan directly into iPhoto. Ive already scanned hundreds of old snapshots that have been sitting in boxes for ages because it was too much hassle to scan them one-at-a-time on my old flatbed scanner. Finally, I just want to mention something I havent seen in other reviews. The scanner is also bundled with CardIris business card scanning software. This software does an OK job of scanning and OCRing business cards, which you can then import into Address Book or pretty much any other contact manager or database/spreadsheet app. Unfortunately its a PowerPC app, but it runs fine on my Intel Mac. The OCR function is not as accurate as FineReader, but it allows you to edit each card before saving.

I bought this scanner last month after reading many positive reviews on it by others. I use it to scan all of my clinical records into electronic format for long term storage. That is a very big job. so far, this scanner has certainly lived up to its positive reputation. it is very fast scanning and sending scanned files to the appropriate place is a breeze. It works very well now and I hope that it will continue to work so superbly in the years to come. It was rather pricey (>$400) but once again, it appears that you get what you pay for. I would buy one again in a heart beat.

This product has solved my desktop paper organization issues. Ive been using it for about four months, and it has been superb. I recommend it highly. 1. Reliable: does not jam often, and when it does, jams are very easy to fix. 2. Good quality scans. 3. Simple and easy to learn software makes organizing scanned files a breeze. 4. Hardware is as simple and straightforward as it gets. 5. Easy to install. 6. Small desktop footprint. 7. Very fairly priced given the quality of the product and the fact that you get a full version of Adobe Acrobat with the product. 8. Scans quickly. 9. Not a portable product but lightweight and easy to move around. At first I had problems with the document feed for multiple page scans. However, I quickly learned that if you begin the scan of a multiple page document with the scan button (as opposed to the automatic system in the feeder) the issue with multiple page scans goes away. (This based on scans of up to 20 pages. I have not had need to try more.)

Ive used a few auto-feed scanners over the years from Visioneer and HP in an attempt to create a paperless home office. All of them have had one thing in common. They were frustrating to use. They jammed frequently, had poor drivers, etc. This one does not fit that profile. I was initially a bit leary of the price. $400+ for a home scanner was a bit of a pill to swallow. Having used this scanner for a few months now, Id have to say Id be willing to pay more! It is an absolute joy to use. It plows through my bills, receipts, statements, whatever, with not a single hiccup. It hardly even blinks when I give it crinkled and folded paper (although it has its limits). I got a pleasant surprise recently when I decided to scan a bunch of store receipts. You know the 3-inch wide by 12 inch long kind? No problem. Even if the auto-feeder sucked it through a little crooked, the software straightened it right back out. Wow. ...and the speed. Holy cow. It flies. Having a full Acrobat Pro license included is a heck of a nice bonus.

It wont be any surprise, given the trend of good reviews, for me to follow suit. I am another *very* satisfied customer. Like one of the recent reviewers, I realized you had to have the ScanSnap Manager open for the button scan to work. If you dont have it open, the LED on the scanner will flash. It works well with the stock ABBYY FineReader, and Acrobat, as well as the DEVONthink suite, and Readiris. Here is a question I had for you other ScanSnap owners... now that youve got this fabulous device, and have scanned up your stuff... do you have an expensive scanner collecting dust, or are you finding continued uses for it? It seems to me, to be able to keep free from the clutter, by digitizing as much as possible, is worth the price of admission.

The speed at which this product scans the paper is amazing. And it scans both sides at the same time. Butter my butt and call me a biscuit. Im impressed. Im horrible at keeping up with paperwork and Im hopeful that this will help my ADD self get a little more organized. When the kids bring papers home, calendars, phone lists, field trip permission slips, fundraiser paperwork.. I will scan it so WHEN (not IF) I lose it, I can reprint it. YES. Ive been saving my sons Kindergarten work but I decided to scan it and save it. INCREDIBLY fast and does a beautiful job. I like to think Im up to date on the latest and greatest but Ive never seen anything work this well. I scanned documents that I know I couldnt replace if I lost them.. I scanned artwork from my kids.. things that Id like to keep but with 6 kids I just dont have room to keep the original items. What a great product. Worth the price.
