Schluter KERDI-BOARD-SN: Shower Niche 12x12

When we finally got to use it would not work when stud spacing is 12 in for tile installation.it is 13 in wide.

Used to frame these in, install cement board, and waterproof. Now its a 5 minute job, doesnt get much easier than this

I wanted this specific size so that I could fit in a full sheet without having to make many cuts and this size is not readily available in local stores.

4 star instead of 5 because of incorrect listed dimensions. I’m a tile contractor. As someone else pointed out.. this unit’s rough is 16x16 outside flange [13 x 13 OD of the body] (as shown in pics) NOT 18” x 17.3 or whatever they have it listed as. This is important for anyone framing out an RO inside the wall or cutting out wallboard without the unit in hand, while say, waiting for the unit to arrive ... which I ALMOST did but fortunately since I was warned by another reviewer, didn’t. Thank you! So just paying it forward. Why on earth they still perpetuate the myth of this thing being the wrong size I do not know. Old dimensions maybe. Will change to 5 star if they fix the issue. As otherwise this box is good quality (as are all schluter products imo) & performs as advertised if/when properly installed. -Eric All ANGLES•Tile and Bath

Great for what it is. Just remember it is only the depth of a 2x4. Schluter rocks. Saved me plenty of time.
