Schluter KERDI-BOARD-SN: Shower Niche 12x12

I continue to use Kerdi solutions for waterproofing even if they continue to be pricey options. For niche, I can easily and quickly install combinations of adjacent horizontally or vertically with good alignment. You DO need to carefully cut tile around the fixed size to nicely fit, but IMHO its a breeze to bypass manually constructing the niche. The rulings n the Kerdi surface really facilitate alignment challenges as well.

VERY DISAPPOINTED, PURCHASED A DIFFERENT NICHE FOR RENO LAST YEAR, WHICH WAS A PLASTIC BOX. THIS ONE IS JUST FOAM AND ACTUALLY COST MORE THAN WHAT I PAID FOR A GOOD ONE LAST YEAR. UNCERTAIN HOW DURABLE THIS WOULD BE IN THE LONG HAUL. SUGGEST YOU BUY SOMETHING OTHER THAN A CHEAP FOAM BOX FOR $55.

This 12x12 niche is the perfect size, in my opinion. It can hold 5-7 large bottles of shampoo/body wash without a problem. Mine is installed on the exterior wall side of my shower, and with the Kerdi boards insulating value, the niche area doesnt seem any cooler than the rest of the shower, which some people were concerned about. If you dont need/want a custom sized niche, the Kerdi niche is perfect for you.

It is not bad. Costs about twice what it is worth. For the money, you could get better value. Quality is decent. Price is wrong for what you get.

installed the niche so far but have not finished the shower. it was easy to install, cant wait to finish the shower it looks good so far

Nice, easy and waterproof. After I did my shower years ago, I found they made these and would have loved to have two in the renovation I did in basement. Used or my moms and is perfect.
