> 3 dayThey use to be all the same size and all porous , now they mixed them with non-porous rock , even with shiny rocks just to add weight to the bottle wth?.

> 3 dayThis may be no better or no worse than any other filter media. Yes it is just pumice, but Seachem has tested it for pore size and reactivity, it shouldn’t alter water chemistry. 1 liter should be enough to fill one tray in a large canister filter.

> 3 dayA lot more in the container than expected! I got 2 for my three canister filters. A bit more than a 1.25 of a litre. It is natural rock so there was a few rocks that I not look like they had pours in the rock so decided to toss them out. Just the lid’s worth of cast off. Surprised that their quality control is so lax that that many black rocks would get through in a white product. Since I am replacing bio media already in an established tank I’m doing it 1/4 at a time. So every week and a half I am doing doing another 1/4th so that the existing bio media is not wiped out in a huge swap.

> 3 dayI purchased these in hopes of helping reduce my high tap water nitrate problem for my 75G. I used it for a good while but found that Id need more then I had space for. In order for it to properly remove nitrates. It ended up just being a good place for bacteria to live but not much more. This stuff has an expiration date becuase after awhile the pores that are supposed to help in the stone become clogged. Once they become clogged its not as efficient as it should be. Overall, Id recommend these to help lower nitrates but only if you have alot of it.

> 3 dayThis is my first time using this media and I just put it in the filters so it would take some time to know the effectiveness. I bought couple of 1 L Seachem matrix bio bottles, and very consistently, each 1 L bottle has about 1/5 to 1/4 of other rocks. Seachem needs some better quality control here. I cant believe that several reviewers said they only had a few other rocks. For the dust, they were not too bad, I only had to put them in the sink and rinsed a few times.

> 3 dayThe bio media was a good size. I did not need break it into any smaller pieces. I recommend rinsing before placing into aquarium, it can make water little cloudy without rinsing.

> 3 dayBought for my aquariums to replace biomedia my filter came with. Along with regular partial water changes the ammonia and nitrites stay at 0 so no complaints here.

> 3 dayI have a new 55 gallon tank about 2 months old, I seeded it with old gravel in panty hose and I squeezed the brown muck into my tank, needless to say I am neurotic and I cant leave my tank alone. I change the water pretty much every other day. My ammonia and nitrite levels have been fluctuating. As soon as they were both 0 I changed the canister water and rinsed the poly pad in aquarium water. I vacuumed the gravel all in the same day and now im having a mini-cycle. I was then told the polypad would fall apart eventually and all I needed in my high powered canister filter was biofilter ceramic media. I have been slowly trying to get to only that but with 2 goldies , I dont want them suffering any ammonia spikes so I keep adding expensive tricks like API-absorb and it works for a day and sometimes up to 5 but not after that. This arrived this evening, I put it in an hour ago went to dinner and everything is at 0! Mind you an hour ago my ammonia was.5 my nitrites were .25.My water was cloudy and it is crystal clear
