    I use this for water changes with Discus fish. Seems to keep the water parameters better than standard tap water. Much easier than making R/O water

    This stuff is incredibly effective. 1/8 teaspoon per 25 gallons...add enough to treat your entire tank volume not just the added water. To help keep the concentration higher near the added water, I add the Safe to a plastic hang-on specimen container (like they use in fish stores before bagging), and run a hose into this container... I slowly add water back in over 1-2 hours. Hang a cheap water alarm inside the top of the tank to alert you in case you forget that the hose is running!

Sachem Safe Water Conditioner Safe is the complete and concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Safe converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank"s bio filter. Safe may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Safe detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the bio filter to more efficiently remove them. Safe is non-acidic and will not impact ph. Safe will not over activate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. Safe is the dry version of Prime(R) and shares all of it"s advantages; however, Safe is even more concentrated than Prime(R) .
