Excellent product. Safe is just a concentrated powdered form of SeaChem Prime. 1/2 tsp will treat 50 gallons of water.

the product was good and lasts forever but when i got it in the mail the lid had come off and it had spilled all over the inside of the package. amazon was nice enough to send me a replacement with a shipping upgrade but when the second one arrived today the lid had also fallen off during transit and powder was spilling from the box corners like the first one. amazon was nice enough to let me return it in exchange for a refund. maybe next time they should tape the lid on. the dechlorinator itself is good, im using the refund to buy some from a petshop instead. id definitely recommend this product to people with very large aquariums or with multiple aquariums because a tiny bit will treat alot of water and the whole kilo treats up to 200,000 gallons of water!!!

I don’t know of any other product which can treat such a huge volume of water for such a low price. This stuff is perfect - it dechlorinates your water without adding other random crap you didn’t ask for like aloe vera. Seachem is definitely the gold standard in dechlorinator and safe is even more cost effective than prime.

This product is good value for large aquarium, it does not make sense for small tanks since the amount needed is soo small it is difficult to measure and you will end up using more than needed and that defeats the purpose of buying SAFE over Prime. if you think Prime smells bad you are in for a treat with this product, the smell is quite potent !!! but it works very well for larger tanks.

I generally buy the big 2.2 lb bottle, but thats a bit overkill on my part. There is no question that this is the more money conscious product. It treats thousands of gallons because it is so potent. I have been using it for a very long time. it is the best product on the market for what it does. i highly highly recommend. you can even use this to recharge purigen and also during a cycle without disrupting the cycle. I am an experienced keeper/breeder/seller of fish, and i always have this on hand. great stuff!

Great stuff, especially if you have a lot of tanks. Just make sure to follow the dosage guide.

I have used Prime for years but found it was not economical for my pond, this powdered formula is way cheaper per dose. It smells like rotton eggs but I can live with that since it does such a great job binding ammonia, nitrite, chlorine and chloramine.

Sachem Safe Water Conditioner Safe is the complete and concentrated dry conditioner for both fresh and salt water. Safe removes chlorine, chloramine and ammonia. Safe converts ammonia into a safe, non-toxic form that is readily removed by the tank"s bio filter. Safe may be used during tank cycling to alleviate ammonia/nitrite toxicity. Safe detoxifies nitrite and nitrate, allowing the bio filter to more efficiently remove them. Safe is non-acidic and will not impact ph. Safe will not over activate skimmers. Use at start-up and whenever adding or replacing water. Safe is the dry version of Prime(R) and shares all of it"s advantages; however, Safe is even more concentrated than Prime(R) . Product Features: Works great with freshwater and saltwater aquariums Non-acidic and won"t impact pH Will not over activate skimmers Item Specifications: Sizes: 8oz 2.2lb 8.8lb Directions: To remove-(Directions for 8.8oz or higher) Chlorine: use 5 g (1 tsp.*) to each 1625 L (450 gallons*) of tap water (removes 4 ppm). Chloramine: use 5 g (1 tsp.*) to each 1250 L (300 gallons*) of tap water (removes 4 ppm). Ammonia: use 5 g (1 tsp.*) to each 400 L (100 gallons*) of tap water (removes 4 ppm). Do not overdose To detoxify nitrite/nitrate in an emergency situation use up to 5 g (1 tsp.*) to each 400 L (100 gallons*). Use fish to gauge toxicity reduction as test kits will still show presence of nitrite/nitrate even when detoxified. May be added to aquarium directly, but is better if added to new water first. If adding directly to aquarium, base dose on aquarium volume. If temperature is > 30 C (86 F) cut dosing in half.
