The PS4 cant take advantage of high speed drives anyway, so the focus with external (or internal) replacements is reliability and capacity. This drive has offered both so far, and in a slick case that matches the PS4 aesthetic. The speed is good as well. If you dont care about appearance, you might just go with a similar Seagate external drive without the branding. This one came formatted and ready to use. I would prefer a type-C connector on the drive, but it doesnt really make a difference other than being reversible and easier to find.

The only reason I gave this steaming pile of crap one star is because I can’t post a review without doing so. Don’t buy this thing. After two weeks of use, I got error messages non stop and the damn thing no longer works as of this morning. It reached the point to where it no longer connects to my PS4 even though every thing is plugged in and there’s zero wear and tear on the connection cords. Save yourself the hassle and frustration and get something else. I’m gonna take this thing to range and use it as target practice, at least then I’ll finally haven gotten some use out of it.

Exactly what you need and very easy to install I love the fact its so compact since I have a space just for it in my gaming set up every dollar counts on these and trust me it helps a lot having extra memory.

I had this product for about 2 months all of my games were stored on it came home one day it crashed and I had to reinstall everything onto the hard drive it lasted another two weeks and then burnt out and never worked again

love the product now have all my games and still more room to expand
