> 3 dayI purchased 10 of these drives to use in a Ubiquiti Cloud Key Gen 2. All 10 drives died after only a few months of use. The drives were not under a lot of stress or in an enclosure that had a lot of heat. I tried going through their tech support for assistance and got nothing but the runaround for several weeks without any help. A complete waste of time. Do not buy these drives as they are completely unreliable and will fail you if you use them for a few hours per day. I have 30+ years of IT experience and have used tons of drives over the years with great support, but these by far are the worst drives I have ever purchased.

> 3 dayIm a graphic designer/photographer and use these to back up my files and photos. Ive used Seagate over the years and prefer this because of its compactness and portability. The ability to function without a power source is a plus. My only complaint would be the controller feeding the SATA connectors. My last one failed and there are other complaints out there of dead HDDs. I had to purchase an enclosure to harvest a part for this to work again. Overall very good quality though.

> 3 dayI had them before and they stop working suddenly so you never know when it is going to fail, and if it fails you loose everything.

> 3 dayLet me preface with, I have a 2-year old windows 10 machine with 32GB RAM. The machine is configured for graphics and photos, so there is a hefty display card. When I first unpacked this drive, I plugged it into one of my USB 3.0 ports and installed the software. Right after that, I was getting mouse and keyboard lags some short and some for 10 seconds or more. Unplugged the drive, shut down the software, lags disappear. So I uninstalled the software and decided to use Windows backup. But, when I plugged the drive in again, same thing - keyboard and mouse lag (freezing up as if there was an extreme performance hit) I unplugged it from the USB 3.0 port (5 Gbps)and plugged it into the USB 3.1 port with 10 Gbps transfer speed and problem solved. Now, I have to buy a USB extension, because the one that they sent was obviously meant for a laptop and not my console machine. It is a small drive for its storage capacity - so thats good.

Greater than one weekI had a back drive from Seagate, I had a problem placing the data on a new hard drive. At no charge Seagate recovered the data and installed it a new hard drive, plus replaced my old back up drive with a new one, all at no charge!

> 3 dayI have had exemplary service from this drive although I do not expect data recovery under the limited warranty nor do I expect a spinning drive (not SSD) to transfer data live a supercomputer. I am a simple person needing simple reliability for simple backups of my simple laptop and desktop. Something to grab in case of fire or hide incase of theft. EZ-PZ. If the third round of economic incentive checks ever materializes I ma buy two more and set up my NAS box. Wouldnt THAT be cool? Yep Yep Yep.

> 3 daySo Ive been using this device for about a year. Then I noticed that intermittently it would not appear in Explorer. Its plugged in, why isnt it working. Well, after literally months of this, Im just now figuring out that its the cord that goes from the unit to the USP port thats causing an issue. Its not secure, kind of wiggles. I dont want to get another unit because the stupid connection doesnt work but what use is the drive if it wont boot up. Unfortunately, my availability to have tech support ended just a mere 10 days ago. Not sure what to do at this point. So, just check that your cord is really tight and secure if you buy this device. If not, return it and look for another brand.
