> 3 dayThis thing sounds great. I also has an SM-57, and I like the tone of the e609 better.

> 3 daySuper easy to use and was able to get some BIG guitar tones out if this lil guy. Handled my Orange 2x12 running pretty loud with lots of distortion and feedback extremely well. Was able to record without any bleed through from ambient room sounds and adjacent bands practicing like a champ. Best Mic purchase Ive made in a while.

> 3 dayIts a sennheiser 609 that arrived on time, what else do you need! Seriously if youre a guitarist and youre thinking of getting your own mic for your amp, this is your guy. Im a huge fan of Shure, and the SM57 can double as a work hammer, but I prefer the 609 cause I dont need to carry a stand. A-B a 609 and 57, theyre going sounds ridiculously close.

> 3 dayGreat directional microphone. I use it to mic guitar amplifier speakers. The forward pickup pattern is great and rear rejection superb.

Greater than one weekHad been using a SM-57 to mic electric guitar amp for a while and while they are great, extremely versatile mics I always felt my tone was a bit nasally/congested sounding and was extremely sensative to mic placement on the speaker. So I figured Ive give this a try. Much more airy/natural amp sounding tone to my ears and sounds pretty much the same no matter where you put the mic. This review is not a knock on SM-57 (theres a reason theyre pretty much the standard) but to me and my ears the E609 just sounded more like what I wanted to hear in my ears coming from my amp.
