> 24 hourAfter taking all of the individual parts of this vacuum out of the box, I would have sworn that something was missing. It just didnt look like the pieces I removed would turn into the vacuum that was pictured on the front of the box. But, surprise! Just like one of those transformers, the pieces came together and really did look exactly like the image shown. I was pleasantly surprised with the weight of the unit. It really was as light as they say. And the maneuverability of the vacuum was honestly amazing. When I compare it to my older Dirt Devil model, this behaved like a fine Italian sports car. I was able to easily reach places underneath tables and maneuver it into corners like a pro. There was very little resistance and it seemed to glide over the carpet effortlessly. In no time at all, the dirt canister filled up and it was simple to remove it and empty it into the trash bin. As a matter of fact, it filled up really, really fast. Either my home was filthier than I thought or the canister is just a tad too small. I decided to put the entire model to the test, so I ran it over bare floors as well. Again, it slid almost like a hovercraft and left virtually nothing in its wake. Then, I disconnected the hand held unit and vacuumed by stairs with it. It did a fantastic job on them also. So, I am thrilled with this vacuum. I thoroughly enjoyed cleaning my home which must have been a first for me. The power of the unit was everything that Shark claimed it to be. But, I do have a few things that I thought could be improved. Here they are: Although I love the light at the bottom of the cleaner, it is noticeably absent from the handheld unit. It would have been nice if somehow they could have installed one on that too. I really could have used it and it was sorely missed. As mentioned previously, the model is incredibly light but I kind of dont like the fact that it just cant seem to stand upright unattended. It has to lean on something else because of its high center of gravity and this just makes it a bit awkward. The instruction booklet does say that you can detach the top part of the unit and hang it on a storage hook lower on the main section. I have not tried this yet, but that might be enough for it to stand on its own. And, unless I am missing something, there seems to be nowhere to store one attachment that contains a spinning brush. I will read through the booklet again - I could very well have missed it, but there is a place for each accessory so I found it surprising that there was no place to store that . The few cons that I just mentioned are minor and certainly should not be a deterrent to making this purchase. I love that I dont have to deal with bags although I do wish the dirt container was slightly larger. There is something oddly satisfying at dumping the dirt into the trash can. It just makes you feel as if you did a great cleaning job!

> 24 hourI really like this Shark, but I find it to be awkward. It won’t stand on its own because it’s so top heavy. I have to lean it against something and a few times it’s fallen onto furniture or against the wall and nicked it. The suction is great, though.

> 24 hourEverytime I vacuum I need to pull the whole thing apart. gets clogged super easy, but you wont know its clogged. Looses power and you end up just pushing the dirt around. It can barely vacuum a 20x15 room wit out having to stop and pull it apart. would not buy again

> 24 hourThis stick vacuum works well on stairs and floors, as well as in getting up the embedded dog hair on rugs. However, curiously the 2 attachments for the hand-held part of the vacuum do not create the angle needed to go over pet hair areas of floor or stairs. The attachment seems only to work ok on upholstery considering I have to hold the hand vac almost parallel to the furniture. At first I thought there might be a button to click in order to get the same kind of angle needed to use on a floor, but there isnt any way to adjust the attachment. Has anyone else felt this was a problem in how useful the pet hair attachment brush is for floor level areas?

> 24 hourI’ve always been kind of skeptical of these stick vacuums as I’m accustomed to the more traditional type. I think the large one equals more power and better performance, but after using the Shark it made me a believer in the efficiency and ease of using one of these. When I first used it, I was very much impressed, a lot of suction in such a small form factor, and it was also easy to maneuver around. Although there was a lot of suction, I could easily turn it quickly and since pivots easily I can get it to go around areas more quickly and with less effort as it’s also lighter. Overall, it’s just a great vacuum to have. I do like the powerfin versus the traditional brushroller as it seems like it doesn’t get tangled with hair as easily. The attachments it comes with is the basics that I’m normally using anyway, so I’m not cluttering spaces with unneeded things. It does kind of fail when you’re doing a mass cleaning as the dust cup seems to be filled easily. I vacuumed my living room, kitchen and stairs and it was filled. I’m not sure if that’s good or not as I do try to keep things clean, or a testament to the suction it has. I think they key advantages this has over the traditional upright vacuum I was using before is suction, maneuverability, light weight, and the brushroller doesn’t get tangled with hair. The only drawback for me was the dust cup.

> 24 hourUp until this Shark HZ602 Ultralight Stick Vac, we have always owned a canister vac. Shark is my go to brand and we LOVE our high powered vacuum. It is several years old and hasnt lost any of its cleaning power. I was hoping for a similar experience with this vacuum. I do not have anything else to compare it to in the way of stick vacs. We never had the use for one as we always had carpeted flooring. We just recently had an entire floor of our home done in LVP flooring so I wanted a separate vacuum for that flooring. (so we can keep one vacuum on each level of our home) I really do like the look of the vac! Its sleek, stylish, and the Comet Red color is lovely. It isnt overly bulky, is easy to carry around, and doesnt take up much space. I am not thrilled with the fact that it doesnt stand up on its own. It has to be leaned up against a wall otherwise it topples over backwards. It would be nice if it came with some kind of docking station to help keep it upright when not in use. The cord is on the shorter side. This isnt a huge deal but I do have to relocate the plug to other outlets more often than I do with my other vacuum. The dust bin is VERY small. I may be spoiled by the large dust canister of our other Shark vacuum but for this reason, I would only use this for small jobs. There is no way I could clean the entire house, with aaallll of the pet hair, without having to dump the canister multiple times. I do love the hand held vacuum option. I have been using this a lot. Its lightweight and makes vacuuming our LVP stairs a cinch! The powerfins feature is quite interesting. I am ALWAYS cleaning and cutting hair out of our other vacuum with a bristle roller. Its a real PAIN! This eliminates that completely! The most important factor with ANY vacuum is the power and suction. This is where this product fell a little short for me. It is wonderful for using on a flat, even surface like LVP. It sucks up pet hair and other fuzzies with ease. However, I tried using it on an area rug and also our memory foam bath rugs. It just didnt do a great job. It seems to glide over the surface of the rugs, picking up any hair or fuzz that may be gently sitting on top, but it just doesnt get down deep enough to grab anything that has been walked on several times. This was a bit disappointing as our cats love sitting on those memory foam rugs for some reason. They get covered in pet hair easily and this vacuum just doesnt leave them squeaky clean like our other Shark. Overall, its still a good vacuum, but I would honestly stick to a canister vac as it seems to have more suction and better cleaning capabilities.

> 24 hourOverall a pretty good corded stick vacuum, it works incredibly well. Pros: + Self Cleaning Brushroll works pretty well. Household full of girls with hair everywhere, dogs, and its significantly less clog than my other vacuums. + Simple On/Off switch, Simple Hardwood/Carpet switch. Why do others overcomplicate this? + Great suction and overall a straightforward solid corded stick vac Cons: - Not a huge bin, probably middle of the road size - Cords suck - Doesnt include a holder Overall its a great vacuum, but there are tons of options out there. The maroon color is so 1990s, and when compared to the modern industrial design of others, its lacking. Where it lacks in design, it makes up for in function and simplicity. Its a straightforward workhorse and for that reason it wins. I think this deserves consideration, but only if it fits your specific needs.

> 24 hourI have a couple of inexpensive cordless stick vacuums that are meant more as a quick, convenient way to tidy up between more thorough cleaning. I have a corded canister vacuum that I use for the thorough cleaning, but its not great for my rugs, so I decided to give the Shark HZ602 a shot to replace one or more of my other vacuums. PROS: - Very powerful - Easy to maneuver - Easy to empty dust bin - Wide cleaning path - Headlights makes debris easier to see - Brush roll reduces hair wrap - Long cord CONS: - Not HEPA filtered - Hard to carry when storing/disassembled I like the Shark HZ602 a lot. It performs very well and has no problems with picking up finer debris like dust and hair or larger ones like pet food. It also does very well on my rugs, which was key for me. The wide cleaning path also means less passes to clean my rugs and hard floors. The headlight is great so you can see the dust and debris before you pass over it and how it looks afterwards. The self-cleaning brush roll does reduce hair wrap by a significant amount, but not completely. Cleaning it much, much easier than regular brush rolls. And while cordless designs are super convenient, the long cord on the HZ602 does make it easier to clean a wide area without having to plug and unplug that often. I have only two complaints. The biggest one is that the HZ602 is not sealed with a HEPA filter, so its not as ideal for allergy sufferers. Fortunately, I have very good air purifiers in my home, so I just run those while I vacuum and it seems to work out OK. My other complaint is that when Im done using the vacuum, its awkward to carry. I understand that these stick vacuum designs with powerful motors at the top are always going to be top heavy, so they wont be able to defy gravity and stay upright on their own. Being able to hook the motor onto the lower part of the vacuum allows it to be stored more easily and I like that. But some type of handle or grippier section of the body wouldve made it more convenient to carry when putting it away or taking it out for use. Im satisfied enough with the Shark HZ602 that I plan to get rid of my two cordless stick vacs. The HZ602 is powerful enough that I wont have to pull out my Miele canister vacuum as often, so thats definitely a win for me.

> 24 hourI’ve had this vacuum for a year and it’s done nothing but impress me. Using it on short pile carpet or concrete. Pulls out dust/small items with ease. Does an incredible job of picking up hair without tangling on the brush (did I say incredible? Haven’t even had to untangle hair from it!). Filters are washable and very sturdy, am sure they’ll last for a very long time. Extremely impressed by no plastic in their packaging!

> 24 hourI have a cat and a dog. They both have relatively short hair. This vacuum cleaner has no issues picking up their hair without wrapping the hair. The vacuum cleaner is fairly lightweight and easy to use and maneuver. Self-cleaning brush roll works pretty well as well. I am still in doubt though that this can be your main vacuum cleaner. This is why I am giving it four stars.
