> 3 dayAs someone whos had a beard off and on for the better part of a decade, Ive gone through my fair share of beard products. For the most part theyre all very similar. The washes for the most part clean and leave a very squeaky clean (almost dry) feeling out of the shower. Conditioners help a bit after a wash, but not anything to write home about, the only one Ive tried that I really liked was Scotch Porter. Oils help in hydrating, some are excessively oily and just dont look very appealing. Balms will help tidy up the overall shape of the beard, some are not really strong enough and just end up being another layer of oil on the wiskers. Ok, now for this review... So I believe this to be the most natural and most effective line of products Ive found to date. First off, the wash, oh my, the wash... I could really just stop right there. This is my favorite of the line. It leaves my beard so soft I find myself not wanting to ruin it with a conditioner. If you try just one of these product, the wash is a must. Next we have the detangler, this is pretty much a leave in conditioner. It softens out the beard even further and adds a slickness to the beard, it feels great. The oil in the set is probably unnecessary since the wash and detangler do such a great job, but in any case it is a quality oil. The reason I say this is because it doesnt really stay oily in the hair, you can feel that after initially applying, it does absorb into either the follicle or skin, whichever its intended to. As I mentioned, there are some oils that just dont do that, its just greasy all day long. The balm is probably my least favorite of the line, but only because its not a very strong holding balm. Its kind of like I mentioned, another layer of oil. This one does also absorb so its ok. I prefer a more tacky balm with more wax rather than oils. Also, the scent of this line is a subtle chocolatey vanilla kind of smell. Its a very pleasant scent that my wife also enjoyed initially. However after about a week or so of using the product, I no longer get so much as a whiff, which is fine, I find that to be common with many of these beard oils and such. So, overall a great set of products that leave my beard feeling soft and hydrated all day long, it also feels like quality, in the sense that it does absorb. It doesnt feel like you just applied baby oil all over your face. I cannot stress this point enough, there are some name brand beard care product that feel as such. Thats why this product line really stands out to me. Five stars...

> 3 dayA few months ago I decided to grow my beard out upon being clueless with beard care I googled, watched hundreds of YouTube videos, read a million reviews and decided to get a beard kit which there our thousands to choose from but my research brought me to Shea Moisture Complete Beard Kit I have been using for about a full month now so will go through the full line up! The Wash - I think this is the most important of the line because most men use regular hair/women products for their beard BIG mistake why do you wanna smell like lavender and sunflower seeds all day brah? This wash cleanses the skin under your beard for growth, you dont need a lot of product for use so it last longer and it makes your beard look healthy! The Detangler/Conditioner - Honestly I love this stuff it works like a charm after the first use it makes your beard look FULLER, less patchy, more soft, easier to manage for grooming The Oil - Beard oil is perhaps one of the most important things you can do for your beard this oil keeps it moisturized, conditions it, makes it soft so your beard doesnt feel like a Brillo pad all dry and looking like trash on your chin and it also stops the itching of growing a beard The Balm - At first I didnt really care for the balm because I didnt know or understand how important it is when you go out, on a date, or just to take the trash out! This has the right ingredients to style your beard, tame your beard, and learn your beard, its thick and firm enough to hold and last all day great every day tool This product line is designed for black men, we have different hair, different textures so we need different care for our beards! Its all natural, smells AMAZING, and it has great ingredients just read them! Dont be fooled by these other beard products that are MORE expensive and does LESS work than you need for your beard game! Great price point, great company/brand, and great results what more can you ask for??? So STOP using your wifes products and become a MAN!

> 3 dayI got my Husband this system for Christmas and he really likes it. He says he likes that the system is all in one verses systems he had tried from Target or specialty stores like the Art of Shaving, where the stock of certain items are hit or miss. He likes the leave in conditioner process which cuts down on prep time and he likes the smell. The only negative thing he mentioned is, though the beard balm is good at taming his beard, it is not as good as the Clubman beard balm he purchases. When I compared the two of them it seems the shea moisture beard balm has wax as the 5th ingredient and Clubman has it as the 3rd. This let me know that the wax is not used as much in the Shea moisture product.

07-06-2025I cannot generally speak on the product itself too poorly because results may vary from man to man based on your own beard structure, density, and skin sensitivity. What I can say positively is the product smells great and it’s not too bad. It isn’t harsh or chock full of the bad ingredients that can destroy a beard. However there are better more natural products out there and I encourage folks to spend what they think their beard is worth to them. From a negative standpoint, the product packaging is horrible. I’m not sure if they know better than to package oil based products with a more paper based or eco friendly wrapping but trust me when the oil from the product hits the labels on these things it’s atrocious after a while. The oil breaks down the label leaving a little green label residue everywhere making it difficult to get in, manage your beard, and get out and about with your day. Shea Moisture has an argan/Moroccan oil/moisturizer/shampoo line for head hair with much better packaging and they should take notes from themselves in that regard. The beard balm is THICCK a little too thick for my liking because it gunks up my pores and creates clogged hair follicles. Every time I took a break from it I’d be fine. A day or two after using the balm the skin under my beard would become dry with inflamed hair follicles and I’d have to use a bentonite clay mask with steam treatments and close monitoring to un-irritate my skin. But like I said this may vary from man to man. The beard wash is probably my favorite although the moisturizer was a daily go to for me at one point. Shop around and experiment lightly based on ingredients and live non-biased reviews Is the best advice I can give.
