Worked better than expected: fit into my 20 year old small ceiling light/fan unit where other LEDs did not; no messing with the ballast - truly plug&play; instantly turns on at full brightness; no flickering; nice light color. Extremely satisfied and pleased with this product!!

These fit perfectly into our recessed light fixture. The color is great, a cool daylight look.

My wife was complaining about the dim and yellow CFLs in our kitchen downlights. I looked into replacing them with LED conversions by popping out the wires from the connector to the socket and attaching the live wires. It turns out that that removing the ballast from these lights required much more work that I had anticipated (see photos) with a hornets nest of wires once I opened the junction box that would have to be rewired by working through a small hole. I realized that this was much more complex than rewiring a 4 fluorescent tube fixture for LEDs so I looked for direct LED replacements. I determined that the CFLs have a GX23 base meaning that they have a magnetic ballast. Amazon had these which are equivalent to an 18W CFL and have a temperature of 3000K which is perfect. Simply popped in the new bulbs, took the CFLs to Hazardous waste and basked in compliments from my wife from the new brighter lights.

Update 16 Jun 2021: The seller responded to my warranty replacement request quickly and I have replaced the broken bulb. Upgraded to 4-stars due to the sellers responsiveness. Original Review: Ive been using this product since 2018. The latest order (Feb 2021) had one bulbs base separate from the casing while it was mounted in the ceiling fixture. So this particular bulb lasted less than 5 months. All the other bulbs, dating back to 2018, are still working. Looks like I got a manufacturing defect and its too late to initiate a return.

As described! Good Quality

The light output is fine for a front porch. The color temp is very white and at the “cool” or “blue” end of the spectrum. Our porch looks spooky and cold, even when compared to the CF bulb we replaced. Not sure I would get this again, but will use due to the energy savings. Would be nice if the producers made it with a warmer color option.

Just as many reviews here already state - this is a GREAT replacement bulb if you are tired of your CFL flickering. I really hated all 3 of my bathroom lights. You turn them on the flick-flick-flick-flicker go-dark then on. The light was also very dim and cool. Didnt like it once it was finally on and hated the flicker so I tried to avoid using them all together. So, I recently upgraded my non-CFL bulbs with LED and was looking for a way to do this for my CFL recessed lighting and the rewiring solutions looked very complicated, time consuming and beyond my skill level. Voila! This bulb solved my problem. One light I just painted the yellowing ring white, cleaned the glass, replaced the bulb and it looks amazing! Do this!
