> 3 dayThese make a huge difference and and I cant imagine not having them! Frankly? My house doesnt have a strong, smoke anymore! Love that! Also like that no visitors can smell much if at all.. Been using these for a while and would like to share a few tips for their care... 1- First of all, the moisture from your exhale is the thing that clogs these so keeping Smoke Buddys dry inside is mega important! 2- I have found that its best to have at least 2. 3- Rotate them daily. 4- Using a lint free cloth wipe the moisture out of them after every use. Moisture is your enemy! 5- Use the caps when traveling but at home keep them open as much possible. Again, moisture is bad!

> 3 dayI leave in an apartment with a crazy landlord who threatens EVICTION every time she THINKS she smells weed. In warmer months I would smoke outside. But it’s COLD so I invested in one of these. I used a different brand sploofy (?) but it started collecting tar (literally tar) on the device after 1 week of usage. But after a week of using this device, it’s still going pretty strong! The smell it emits is very mild, can be easily killed with some decently priced air freshener. The mouth piece fits comfortably to control any seeping out. The only time smoke “spills” out is when I either 1) don’t put my mouth on the piece completely or I accidentally exhale before using the device. The combination of a one hitter and this device is actually pretty good!

> 3 dayI just started using the Smoke Buddy a couple of days ago, but so far Im really pleased. Hubby and I are both smokers, so Ive been trying to find a way to reduce smoke smell and dust in our home. This definitely will help. When you exhale smoke into it, nothing comes out the other end, the filter captures everything. I can see where having to repurchase them frequently might be a pain, but its so effective that I think I will keep buying them. Not sure what Ill do with the large collection of key chains over time, lol :). Pros: Eliminates all exhaled smoke entirely. Thats a HUGE pro. It works exactly as described. Cons so far: 1) You have to exhale the smoke pretty hard to get it to go through the filter, something to get used to but not a huge issue. 2) Hubby has a goatee and mustache. He reports that for him he cant get a good seal around his mouth due to this, so quite a bit of smoke leaks out around the edges, and as a result he probably will not use one often if at all. 3) Frequent replacement for heavy smokers expected. I would LOVE to see a version of this that allows the user to replace filter cartridges rather than having to replace the entire thing.

> 3 dayThis product is a great product! It allows me to smoke without the lingering scent that typically leads to complaints from neighbors (I live in an apartment complex). They’re great at eliminating any smoke and any bit of a lingering scent is very easy to clear up and not strong at all. I smoke daily so on average I’d say they last about a month-month and 1/2. They mask the scent less as the filter begins to go out so it’s pretty easy to tell when it’s time for a replacement. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to smoke indoors without lingering smoke/scent.

Greater than one weekI like this better than its main competitor Sploofy because the Smoke Buddy lasts forever. When it finally seems dead you can microwave it for 5-10 seconds and let it cool down and it works again. This trick eventually stops working though. I ended up just making my own with activated carbon and a soda bottle because it was cheaper than buying these products again. You can find activated carbon in the fish supplies aisle of many stores. To make one cut some slits or make some holes in the bottle of the bottle. Stuff a paper towel into the bottom to cover the openings you just made. Pour your activated carbon(avoid the very fine powder, it will blow out the bottom) into the bottle and stop a few inches from the top. Stuff paper towels into the top to prevent the carbon from falling out. Take your hit and blow it into the bottle from the top and you will get a clean smell out the other end. If you have issues with it working well then adjust how compacted the carbon is until it works for you.

> 3 dayThere is somewhat of a design flaw with this product which makes it a less-than-perfect solution for containing smoke. The issue is that the mouthpiece, or the end where you blow the smoke into, is not directly connected to the filter itself. This empty space between your mouth and the filter fills up with smoke (obviously) but that smoke never reaches the filter so when you move the device away from your mouth, the smoke just escapes from the device without ever having been filtered. It isn’t a lot of smoke, but it’s enough smoke to be detectable, especially if you are using it multiple times in one sitting. I tried to blow as hard as I could into the device to “force” that last bit of smoke into the filter, but it didn’t work. This actually made things messy because apparently when I was exhaling as hard as I could, I was also blowing saliva into the device or something, because it eventually became so filled with drool that it was leaking out the other end. Gross! Anyways, this product is pretty useful for the most part, it definitely helped immensely to keep the room somewhat free of smoke, but I’d sit next to an open window just to be sure. If you’re looking for something 100% effective, this isn’t it. But if 98% effective is sufficient enough for your needs, buy it.

> 3 dayAfter several days of use, I was informed by my roommates that this product was indeed, not working. I think it certainly helps to an extent, but is not enough to be the singular use of smell daterant. I recommend if buying this product, you use alongside candles, or incense - some other form of smell eradication.

> 3 dayIve tried pretty much all of the personal air filters on offer from reputable retailers on Amazon and Smoke Buddys product is simply the best option. Like any filter, it only has a certain lifespan and that will be reduced if youre a heavy smoker. That being said Smoke Buddys filter has the best longevity of those Ive tried, not to mention performs among the best at actually neutralizing odors and reducing visible smoke exhaust. The biggest complaint Ive heard is that this product doesnt compare well to homemade alternatives produced much cheaper. I cant argue with those complaints from a value perspective, but I happily purchase the Smoke Buddy because it looks a little more subtle than a toilet paper roll and is exceptionally effective at eliminating odors. If you want to maximize the life of your personal air filter, there is an empty chamber at the top of the filter that can easily be stuffed with a dryer sheet or even extra cheap surgical masks people may have lying around. You can essentially make a budget prefilter that in my experience multiplies the life of your Smoke Buddy by a factor of 3-4x.
