Squatty Potty The Original Toilet Stool - Bamboo Flip, 7 & 9 Height, Brown

I suffer with severe constipation due to health issues. Yes, I eat high fiber, take a fiber supplement etc. That still doesn’t stop the severe constipation. It gets so bad from the bottom of my ribs to my groin is agony. Not fun. During my latest bout I was desperate. Nothing was working and I was a week into the latest torture session. I decided screw it, I’ll try the squatty potty. Ordered the bamboo version over night. Amazon had it here before noon the same day. Took about 8 minutes to assemble and it’s surprisingly sturdy. When the time came to try again I was armed with my squatty. I was in the bathroom for a little over 5 minutes when I finally got to evacuate my packed intestine. That is a record for me. It’s usually an all day affair when I’m in this situation. Giving up then coming back to try again over and over and over. I’m not gonna tell you I didn’t have to push because I did have to but it was so much easier! Way less pain and took so much less time with the squatty. Just imagine how easy it could make your time on the potty if you don’t have my issue! Only negative I have about the squatty is this… If you don’t properly push it under the front of the toilet you’ll end up kicking it and wrecking your toes. You’ve been warned!

I’ve been using random objects in place of a squatty potty for years, and I’m glad I finally got the real thing. This one would look great in most bathrooms, can adjust to different sized toilets by using a different size, and is nice quality. My one complaint is that the screw head caps come off fairly easily sometimes, but I’m not really worried about it. BUT if you have a pet or small child, be careful with those. Go get yourself a squatty potty now—your bowels will be happier.

Original: The assembly instructions are god awful. Fine to use I suppose, but the assembly alone makes me hate this. Just get the plastic one, I hear its better Updated: My initial review above was an overreaction to the frustration of assembling the product. Assembly really isnt that bad but the instructions are just so poorly done (quite simple to put together in hindsight that Im shocked its not more clear in the manual). However after using the product for a few days now I am pleased with the purchase. Thanks

i really like that this can be flipped for different height toilets. my apartment right now has a higher seat, but if i move elsewhere i dont have to worry about it being the wrong height. my partner is also taller than me, so we can use whichever height works best for each of us. super easy to put together and it looks so much nicer than the plastic ones for just a few dollars more!

I have been a fan of the Original Squatty Potty Toilet Stool for years, and I wanted purchase more stools for additional toilets in my home. As much as I liked the Originals functionality, I thought it would look cheap to put a white plastic stool in guest bathrooms, so I did some research. I saw that Squatty Potty also develops a similar product, but instead of plastic, they use bamboo and call it the Bamboo Flip. This is because from a simple flip of the product, the stool can either be 7 or 9 tall from the ground. For typical toilets, a 7 stool works, but if you have higher toilets (or children), the 9 setting would be optimal. When the Bamboo Flip arrived, it came in a box with the necessary tools and hardware to personally assemble it. This called for 8 screws, screw covers, and rubber guards to protect your floors. Installation realistically took about 15-20 minutes to follow the instructions, make sure all of the pieces were in the correct location, and using the tools and hardware to put it all together. I purchased 3 of these stools, and one of them couldnt get assembled properly due to warping of the wood. Keep this in mind! If you assemble your stool, and you see any pieces of wood bending or not fitting together properly, contact Amazon as soon as possible for an exchange or a refund. Overall, the Bamboo Flip from Squatty Potty looks a lot better than the Original Squatty Potty with its cheap white plastic look. It has a lot less surface area for your feet compared to the Original, so keep this in mind. There is also a slight decline on the surface of the stool where your feet sit compared to the flat surface of the Original. I personally like this product, and I would recommend all humans to have some sort of stool in their bathrooms going forward! The Bamboo Flip is less of an eye-sore compared to the Original for guests, but both of them do their jobs well.

Nice quality and sturdy.

I found the fit and finish of the Bamboo FLIP Squatty Potty unit that I received mid-October 2019 to be good, and the assembly to be easy. The four major pieces were reasonably smooth with a bit more roughness on the edges of the two larger sides where they fit together once assembled. I did not encounter any problems with splinters. The screws supplied were adequate for the task of screwing the sides together; they were not high-grade fasteners however. The supplied hex-key wrench was also adequate but not high-grade. None of the fasteners required excessive torque; the two on the right-hand side of the taller platform side did require more torque than any of the others but it was still manageable with the supplied hex key wrench (using the longer side of the wrench to turn the shorter sides head inserted into the top of the fasteners). All of the holes for the fasteners lined up correctly. I followed the standard practice of only torquing the fasteners loosely until all were in place, and then performing a final tightening to finish putting the fasteners in their final positions. Once assembled, the Squatty Potty unit was sturdy enough for its intended purpose. There is a sticker on one of the sides (that is inside the assembled unit) warning against using the unit as a standing platform (stool), and it would clearly NOT be suitable as a standing platform based on the lack of support on all sides and the slope of the sides. It is more than adequate for the purpose of supporting ones feet and legs as indicated for the purpose of altering ones body posture while seated on a standard US plumbing fixture toilet. The short side varies in height from 6.5 inches to slightly over 7.75 inches. The tall side varies in height from 8 inches to just over 9 inches. The included instructions indicate that the correct position is with the platform surface sloping down away from the plumbing fixture (highest point closest to the plumbing fixture).

This is a very nice sturdy product and I like it. However, after over a year the bamboo starts to split one side is a little jagged and I have to put wood glue on it so it doesn’t cause a cut. If this product was all one piece of solid wood for each side instead of pieces of wood it would be better.
