I have no complaints about this keyboard itself. The wristrest is a little hard, but thats just my opinion. I already had a wristrest so I didnt even consider it part of the purchase. I used to have a Razer Blackwidow Ultimate and recently switched to this SteelSeries Apex TKL w/ Blue Switches. The switches feel great, you know exactly when they actuate and have a nice crisp clicky sound. The lighting options are awesome and the colors look great. I thought about going for a keyboard with the new optical switches but I was unsure of how they would feel and sound. This keyboard delivers exactly what I expected. I also replaced the orginal keycaps with some HyperX Pudding caps and it looks dope! There was nothing wrong with the stock caps, I just wanted additional aesthetic customization. I might throw some O-Rings onto WASD just to reduce the travel after actuation, which should make strafe-peaking and such easier in games like Valorant/CSGO. I easily recommend this keyboard.

The look, extra features and design of this TKL keyboard are everything Ive wanted. Small form factor, dedicated media keys that are minimal, volume knob, onboard screen! However, the keys and switches used on this board feel very low quality. The linear switches on this board offer almost 0 resistance and bottom-out quite loudly. I found myself frequently missing characters due to the lack of feedback that youd get from a higher quality linear switch. If youre a gentile typer this board might be for you, however, it will feel unfamiliar to those used to higher quality switches. Steelseries has designed something really special here, but it falls short when it comes to quality where it counts.

Instantly fell in love with this keyboard. I got it soon after my first keyboard I ordered already started to bug out. I love how your anle to customize the colors as well as add a little image as shown in the picture.

What a bummer, I used to really like Steelseries but I just cant recommend them anymore. It seems they have very little grasp on quality control. This keyboard is so aesthetically pleasing, but other than that its nothing special. My issue is that the quality per switch ( I have the reds) doesnt feel consistent. I havent even had this keyboard for more than a month and a couple switches have noticeably more resistance, and are also giving off a grinding like sound. Too bad Steelseries, lost a loyal consumer today, not to mention customer support is an absolute joke. If you plan on spending this much on a mechanical keyboard Id suggest looking elsewhere.

Reviewing the Apex 7 TKL version with the Brown switches This keyboard was overall decent, and has an action that is very close, if not indistinguishable from standard cherry mx brown switches. It is a pretty solid keyboard, and has a good overall build. I unfortunately had to return it due to the ergonomics of the keyboard. The lowest amount of tilt is much too raised and is not ergonomic. I have to prop up the front of the keyboard in order to get a flat enough layout to be able to keep my wrists flat, and I do not understand why keyboard manufacturers are so adamant about having their keyboards raised as such. I purchased this keyboard as I wanted to move away from my current full sized keyboard and go to a tkl keyboard to save on desk space. The design and footprint of this keyboard is great, but again, I could not get past the tilt of the keyboard, which my current Logitech G910 Orion keyboard does a much better job of (the function keys are barely raised above the spacebar).

When the description states: Tactile and Clicky keys, blue switch I kind of expect that. The keys were very smooth however; they were very quite as well. If you depressed the keys enough the keycap would contact the top of the keyboard case and make a Click like sound. It was not coming from the key switches but the physical contact of keycap to face plate. The OCD screen is neat, even it not used much. The RGB was very good and easy to set up. I expected a little more from Steel Series high end. Did not get it, so the keyboard was returned. I end up getting a ROOCAT VALCUN 121 that is truly amazing.

This thing has really nice software and the brown switches feel buttery smooth, I love typing on it. Plus I can put a flying dragon on my screen and who doesnt love a feature like that haha SteelSeries is beginning to be my go too for gaming peripherals. There Arctic Pro Wireless headset is also amazing!

Red switches feel like butter. Keys move so gently and nice, very quiet, bright, FULL RGB with sick presets, and not to mention the OLED, which has built in gaming presets for like CSGO, and plenty of others; you can also make game oled things yourself!

Bought this for my son and he loves the bright colors on the keyboard & the sound it makes when he types. I believe you can also change the colors. According to him (15 yrs old) its awesome.

The Apex 7 TKL keyboard has mechanical switches for 50 million keypresses. Red switches are known for their consistently smooth movement from top to bottom without any bump, allowing for lightning-fast actuation. An integrated OLED smart display with on-board storage is your command center for on-the-fly info from your game, Spotify, or discord, and provides software-free customization for tweaking and saving your settings. An unbreakable aluminum alloy frame makes it a standout mechanical keyboard.
