I gesso on them but I really don’t need to. I just wanted a slightly more intense black. I’ll buy these again. Perfect for what I create.

Cover end of pad was ripped. At the same area the pad was buckled as though it had been dropped on end, affecting that corner of 1/2 the pads sheets overall appearance for framing. Order was also not wrapped or buffered with packing from movement as other orders have been. The Artagain order included in the package was at least plastic- bagged and arrived safely.

I can’t say enough about this toned, mixed media paper with a vellum surface. And using the toned sketchbooks prior but they don’t hold up to watercolor or even Posca pens like this does. My white gel pen also seems to catch on the fibers of sketchbooks. This mixed media with vellum surface has the best of all worlds. Thicker paper, smoother tooth, pen marks great and the Posca doesn’t phase it at all. Still love drawing on toned paper but if you’re using wet media this will stand out and stand up to it. Also note it’s more of a gray blue than a blue blue, even though they call it a blue tone paper. Will be buying more sizes and sheets since it only comes with 15, but sturdy enough to paint on both sides

I wish it would allow me to use my light tablet for tracing; I cant see through the paper.

El papel es muy bonito, es algo más amplio que un dina 4. Para mi gusto tal vez algo fino, aún así da buen resultado el contraste cuando pintas con colores. Imagino que si tienes muy buenos colores el resultado debe de ser espectacular, pero con los que yo tengo mi resultado ha sido sin destacar. No he notado grandes diferencias con otros papeles algo más económicos. Imagino que tal vez no lo he llegado a saber apreciar, y que también has de dominar bien los lápices de colores, o utilizar muchas capas y puede que sea ahí donde se note la diferencia con los otros papeles. Puede que cuando tenga más experiencia aprecie más su calidad.

Im so happy with this paper. I bought it to use with gouache, and it takes it so well! The paper stays intact and it seems to take many layers well. It even took a couple layers of alcohol markers well. No complaints, Im going to buy more soon.
