Both my boys got them when they turned two, and we let them ride them in the house...it doesnt take long and soon enough they are able to cruise and coast effortlessly. The result: I have a three year old who can ride his strider all the way to the mall (1 mile) with mom and dad. He can coast for 50 feet, stop, turn and get going really quickly. He is in control. He loves to stand up on the frame while coasting and he is starting to ask when he will get a pedal bike.....he is almost ready! My 5 year-old learned on a strider and got a real pedal bike on his 4th birthday. He rode it that day and never had training wheels. Just got on it and off he went. These bikes are really game changers. Just commit to them and let the kids ride them.
