> 3 dayBecause of the negative reviews of the filter we decided to order directly from Sub-Zero. When we opened the package we were disappointed. There was grit all over the filter and you could hear noise when the filter was moved, suggesting broken parts inside. It really looked like someone had returned it after laying in the gutter. When we called Sub-Zero to return it, the helpful customer service representative told us that (1) the dirt was simply production dust which we should be able to simply wipe off; and (2) there were balls inside the filter so it should make noise when moved. She added that she took at least two calls a day on this very issue and mentioned that the packaging left a lot to be desired. The dirt did come right off and, once installed, the filter seems to be working fine.

> 3 dayThis is the manufacturers item. It works best. Don’t use the copy cats. They are inferior and could possibly void the warranty.

Greater than one weekFilter was dirty with some fine grit, and there was a rattling sound from inside the filter. Small clear plastic pieces were falling out. This is garbage.

> 3 dayI find it much easier and less expensive to install my own filters on my sub-zero frig than it is to hire a repairman to do it for me. In fact, it was a repairman that suggested that I just order my filters online and install them myself.

> 3 dayI was a little worried about installing this on my own but it was very simple. The old one came right out and this one just popped in. The purchasing process was seamless and the product shipped on time.

> 3 dayThese were dead on arrival. We ordered two and one of them had bits of glass on the outside, as if the glass bulb inside broke. Both filters were broke. Do yourself a favor and order parts from an official Sub Zero distributor or directly from Sub Zero. Go on their site. I ordered the same filters from an official major east coast parts distributor and they worked.
