> 3 dayThis is my fourth attempt at finding a backpack with all the features needed to be the perfect travel companion for car trip and airplane travel, and this backpack is IT! I especially love the zip pocket for the water bottle so it does not continuously fall out (bonus, the pocket has a mini waterproof, cooler liner to keeping the drinks cold/warm). I use the zip pocket designed for shoes for my camera and I can easily take it in and out of the backpack without having to expose the rest of the contents. There are several perfectly sized pockets for other valuables and the icing on the cake is the plastic-lined zip pocket on top to protect my sunglasses. It is a bit too heavy to convert to use for long, vertical hikes, but is great for use in going to the beach or anywhere else where weight is to an issue. This back-pack is a real game-changer for the active traveler, simply, unimaginably perfect!

> 3 dayI just got this backpack and love it. I found it had enough compartments and pockets for me to be able to separate and store all that I needed to. While I havent had it long it does seem sturdy and well made. I love the handle as when I travel I usually carry it through airports instead of wearing it on my back and the handle is very easy on my hands. But it is very comfortable to wear on my back also. I feel it does a good job of protecting my14 lap top and its also small enough to easily fit under the seat on the plane. I saw reviews where people said the zippers came undone and their laptop fell out. But I would never close my zippers at the top of the backpack. I always pull both zippers all the way over to the left side and I am sure they could not come undone that way. Even though its kind of hard I am not sure the sunglass compartment is sturdy enough to protect my prescription sunglasses. But its a convenient spot to keep snack bars in for the plane so I use it for that. All in all a good purchase and very happy.....

Greater than one weekAbout a year ago, I bought a different backpack off Amazon. It had (and still has) very good reviews from very many people. It served its purpose and has held up well, but I wanted something with more pockets/compartments and with more laptop protection. I picked this one mainly because of the shoe compartment. I use my backpack for work and often bring a second pair of shoes so that I can switch between work shoes and comfortable shoes. I will say though that it is a little annoying having the bag part of the compartment loose in the main zipped area. I don’t think I realized it would be that way. The reinforced glasses compartment is also nice, but similarly it gets in the way in the main compartment. I think the design of these two compartments could be improved. My favorite thing, which I wasn’t even looking for in a backpack, is the elastic in the straps. It makes the backpack so much more comfortable. My laptop is quite heavy and then when you add in a water bottle and all the other miscellaneous things, it’s even heavier. My shoulders and back used to hurt from my last backpack and I always thought it was just because of what I was carrying. I don’t even notice the weight now. I took off one star for two minor reasons, but I would still recommend and re-purchase this backpack. 1) the zippers are loud. So loud that others comment on them, no matter how carefully I try to zip and unzip. I think they’re meant to be heavy duty and sturdy, but it’s a bit excessive. 2) the cross emblem on my bag is noticeably crooked. It’s not a big deal, but I paid $100 for this bag and I don’t love that it looks kind of like a knock off. It’s such an easy simple thing that shouldn’t be off. I’ve tried to see it can be turned, but sadly it can’t.

> 3 dayMy last backpack was a SwissGear that I purchased almost 15 years ago. With that longevity, I was certainly going back to the brand. This backpack is even better than the last, more comfortable to wear and splits the balance well between a more compact size, but still plenty of room for my business needs (laptop, tablet, notebook, pens, safety vest, etc.).

Greater than one weekI used this backpack for traveling to Europe for a month, and it worked great. I took my laptop, Kindle, Ipod, headphones, and all of the electronic accessories. The back section lays out flat, but TSA still wants you to take the laptop out of the pack. The center compartment was great for storing a few clothes items. The front compartment was good for organizing various things, but could have had a few more pockets/pouches (baggies help organize). The very front side zip compartment was used for things you dont access very often. I stored things in baggies to make it easier to find things. I spent a lot of time looking online and this met my needs the most. Its also not too bulky if you dont overstuff it and can slide under the seat on the airplane.

> 3 dayUsable, but should have had more internal pockets instead of the totally useless-to-me Shoe pocket that takes up so much room inside the bag if you actually put shoes inside the pocket. Not as many usable internal pockets as would appear from photos. The shoe pocket is also of thin material that will probably not last long if you actually put shoes inside it. With perfect 20/29 hindsight realize I should have bought the other model. Durability; Looks durable, but only actual usage and time will tell that. Annoying zipper strap arrangements, not really well thought out by the designer.. You have to unfasten them to use the bag zipper there. (See photos) Has two totally annoying useless straps with round plastic circles at the end of them hanging down the bottom of the bag. These are for adjusting the bag to fit your back, but some way of fastening the extra length of them up and out of the way should have been considered. Will probably just cut the extra length off, since there is apparently nothing on the bag that those plastic circles at the ends actually fasten to. (See photos) No instructions included with the bag; but lots of lovely tags to explain, fastened here and there on the bag for instructions. The lock is a joke a kid could easily force open, if you want a lock on the bag get a real one. Keeping it, but will modify it to fit my needs. Overpriced for what you get, and annoying. Will probably just remove the worthless fragile shoe pocket by cutting it out inside the bag, never use that zipper, and use industrial silicon glue to place some durable pockets inside the bag in that compartment. Silicon gluing durable pouches inside to make more pockets works for me. Have modified bags before.

> 3 dayThis is my second Swiss backpack last one was over 7 years old. Hated to let it go but needed a new one. Have been using this one about a week. So far so good. Adjustment getting used to different placement of pockets and compartments. Gave it a 4 on comfort as it is still a little stiff. Gave it a 3 on stretch as I have not really filled it up to see how good the stretch is.

> 3 dayYou want a bag that has so many random compartments & features that youll probably never use all of them? This is the bag for you. Style is great - all black is really sleek looking. The shoulder straps are hefty and work best when strapped. This isnt a great bag for just school or daily use... Its wayyyy overkill for that. Awesome for camping/traveling with all the tech sleeves and features though.
