> 3 dayIve had this as my boot drive for over half a year and its still going strong. Load times into any OS is fast and operations are expedient. I havent noticed any thermal issues yet, so thats nice.

> 3 dayMight just be my particular laptop a Dell G15 5525, but every once in a while, when i rebooted my laptop or just started it up cold, the drive would not be detected by the bios. It didnt happen every time, just enough to be annoying, usually rebooting again the drive would show up, but didnt want to deal with the issue potentially getting worse so sent back for refund. When it did show up, there were no issues, and it seems fast for the price. My SKHynix drive that came with the laptop has no issues whatsoever. Was just trying to expand the storage since these laptops only have a single drive bay. Will wait for a better name brand.

> 3 dayUseing this as a secondary working SSD for photo editing, it works well enough, its not going to win any speed races, but for the price is a steal.

> 3 dayWARNING: The 2tb version of the MP44L is NOT Phison E21T with Micron 176 layer TLC like I had hoped when I bought it based on reviews. Instead of uses a Maxio MAP1602A with YMTC 128 layer TLC NAND. These both are from state sponsored Chinese national entities for their interests. Normally this would be fine as the MAP1602A is unusually high performance controller that seemingly stacks higher than its peers as no 2tb model seems available for the e21t, smi, innogrit 5220, etc until smi comes out with next mid range soon. The issue is one of the reasons I bought this is to use hardware encryption that was a feature of the e21t sometime down the road. Now I have no way of knowing if it was rendered intentionally useless or otherwise compromised. Second reason is YMTC is still currently embargoed by the United States. I hope this review is used for people who care about transparency.

> 3 dayGood product for the money, works well. My gripe is how its packaged and shipped. Its packaged in a cheap form fitted plastic cover with little support against bending. To make matters worse, it was shipped in a plastic Amazon bag to save money. Amazed it arrived without damage. Paired this with a metal external enclosure and its a durable, high capacity storage I can keep in my pocket that wont take forever to transfer files.

06-06-2025Its amazing how much value this drive delivers. 2TB with DRAM and TLC for 80 bucks!?! Shut the front door with the Gen4 talk. Using it for the system drive in a new build with Win11 Pro installed on it. It is Gen3 but in day to day use youd be hard pressed to tell the difference from Gen4. Flawless victory.
