Texas Instruments TI-1795 SV Standard Function Calculator

This is a handly desk calculator that I use both for work and at home. It has large numbers and if you dont need a lot of extra functions, this will work well. It has memory functions and a large LCD display.

This is a well-designed, simple calculator that handles typical four-function math. Large, easy to read display that includes a comma to help ensure long strings are easier to read. The buttons are slightly sculpted which helps ensure you dont hit more than one at a time, and are nicely spaced. The display angles up and is legible in even somewhat dim lighting. Seems well-built - better than I expected given the price. Excellent choice if youre looking for a small desktop or hand-held calculator. My only complaint is that you cant clear the memory unless you display it. That seems to be the way with all calculators today. A shame -- I have a very old one that allows you to clear memory without displaying the number (e.g., has separate buttons for clear memory and display memory). That comes in handy at times.

If you’re ok with the funny looks, the buttons are about as dependable and predictable as they come. I worked with a calculator daily for about a dozen years and this calculator ended up getting duplicated by others around me. When my wife practiced her real wastage exam I was warning her how big of a difference a good calculator makes. She instead got a POS for dirt cheap only to tell me I was right and get one of these. Simple, but reliable. When you push the button the calculator responds… sounds like every calculator would be able to do this, but that is simply not the case.

I bought this item because we have them at our school, and it works great. this one is already broken. Ive had it for about 2.5 months. And I cant return it to Amazon LLC. Major bummer, going to think twice about shopping through here :(
