> 24 hourHelen Keller wrote this collection of short articles about her journey to consciousness when she was 17 years old - and its considered the best material she ever wrote. After 70 years this magnificent book is back in print and will rival any poetry and insights into life that you have ever read. Roger Shattuck does a wonderful job in providing background information and includes - MY STORY - written by Helen when she was 12 years old about her conscious awakening at the water pump that is the theme of THE MIRACLE WORKER. Helens own words about what happened when her teacher, Anne Sullivan, pumped the water over her hand and her consciousness broke through for the first time - is ten times more expressive that the words in the play. You will be astounded and amazed by what you find here. Helen Keller wrote down and expressed the essentials of life better than any self help book, seminar, film, or therapist I ever encountered. These short articles can change the way you look at and experience life - Helen Keller at 17 can be the MIRACLE WORKER in your own life. Youve got to read her words to believe it.

I have written numerous times to Amazoms help people, whom I am sure never even heard of Helen Keller and her amazingly encouraging life. This book is listed in the CRIME AND CRIMALS section under POLITICS heading for Kindle users. PLEASE, even if you are not a Kindle owner and, if you agree with me, write in to Amazon to request the removal of this book from such a horrendous category. I truly give this book a FIVE STAR RATING for this, and her other two books that have wound up in this category. Thank you Amazon readers for you help! > 24 hourI particularly enjoyed reading about her dreams and how she saw the world with her hands. However I didnt enjoy the repeated focus on proving that life is just as good or perhaps better without the ability to see. Its a fruitless argument from any side, she was speaking to a different audience of a different time of course but this became quickly redundant.

> 24 hourThe story starts off very well and captured my interest from the first page. Initial chapters that mark the beginning of the plot were really interesting to read, and I remember finding it hard to put down the novel. I’d recommend this novel to the history genre lovers because the author seems to have done a substantial research on the on the topic. Truly gripping.
