Works like it should

soon as I plugged it in problems started every time you did something with the dashboard or when playing online and someone joined your party or game it made the xbox freeze as well as when I was transferring my data over it took over a hour to move 1gig so I would never buy another one or recommend it is recommended going to gamestop and buying a 250 gig no Hasle or wait involved

I have been reading these reviews that say it does not work and they are getting some sort of error message or its not formatted correctly, but I purchased this because Microsoft did not offer an official hard drive on Amazon. Despite all the bad reviews, mine is working just fine. No loud fan or speed up noises, formatted to 290gb which is expected as you lose some of the data when formatting hard drives. The only issue that everyone is guaranteed to come across is that original Xbox games will not function! Original Xbox backwards compatible games are only supported by official Microsoft hard drives. But, there is a very easy fix if you have a way of connecting the hard drive to your computer, like with a Microsoft Transfer Cable or a 3rd party cable of some kind. Exactly what I needed and works perfectly with my Xbox 360! Wish I had done this years ago.

I wasnt able to make this HDD work with my Xbox. On the upside, I was able to return the unit with no drama.
