From a functionality perspective I would give 5 stars, but the size and shape is a little annoying as it pretty much blocks (or tilt) the use of the other outlet (on standard 2 in wall outlets), I had to put an extension on to be able to use the 2 outlets.

The device has the same exact model number as the earlier flashable devices. I believe it still utilizes the ESP8266 but has the new Tuya firmware. Works Ok as a Tuya device.

These switches will only work on Wifi on the 2.4 ghz band of your router. Thats ONLY IF your phone is connected to the same band. My Actiontec 3000a says it has both a 2.4 ghz radio and a 5 ghz one BUT when my phone (pixel 3XL) logs on to the 2.4 Actiontec lets it go right back up to 5 gig. No connection, no way. No help from the app, though lord knows I tried every step a thousand times. Also, the internet was no help. But I pored over the settings and found a way to turn off the 5 GHz, and wala, problem solved.

I use Home Assistant and prefer flashable devices that I can control locally with installing vendor apps or having network traffic round-trip to the public internet to control a plug sitting right next to me on the same LAN. These flashed Tasmota without issues using Tuya-Convert running on an old Raspberry Pi 1 I had lying around. To save someone else the trouble, here is the required Tasmota template: {NAME:TGWF115PRM,GPIO:[0,56,0,17,134,132,0,0,131,57,21,0,0],FLAG:0,BASE:18} I have not yet fully calibrated the energy usage yet, but did set the voltage using the VoltageSet command on the console. There is a page on the Tasmota Github site on power monitoring calibration for those interested. I am thrilled about the value of these devices -- they are as inexpensive as the Sonoff Basic but do not require soldering headers to flash or cutting power cords to install. Flash OTA; Plug; Play!

Perfect!! Item is just as described. Easy to setup and working like a charm! Downloaded the app, switched my Wi-Fi to 2.4ghz, all devices paired successfully and are fully functional in the app. I can now control what I want from wherever I want - AWESOME!!

Setup can be tricky on these, often requiring the second or third try on the app before the device successfully pairs. Once they are paired, they work rock solid and Ive yet to have any issues requiring resetting these devices unlike other brands of Smart Plugs Ive bought in the past. Being able to monitor energy usage is very useful, as I like to monitor how much power Im using with my space heater and certain other appliances in my apartment, and this device has been fairly accurate at providing those readings. It integrated with Alexa with no problems.

Love that it doesnt cover a second outlet! I dont use the TopGreener app but Kenhub or something instead and it works well. I wish I cold just have a widget to tap to turn on/off switches without it opening the app again or if I can have it for less than 4-5 smart plugs (the widget is big). I havent tried linking it to Alexa yet because Im lazy and its in a different room. I use it for a light so I can get into bed without tripping over things and dying.

    — Edit Was able to get the others working - still not a fan of Chinese data collection devices, but we sell our souls (data) for the sake of convenience. — Original Two issues I had with this. 1) I could only get 1 of the 4 devices to connect. The other 3 are useless. So that’s a dealbreaker to begin with. Money wasted, hours lost. 2) I have to give this device my WiFi info (understandable) AND location data all the time just to get it to work (ridiculous). I understand that certain features might require location data, but I only need it to tell me how much electricity is running through it. A Chinese (spyware?) device that collects way more data than necessary worries me.

Firmware has been patched out of the box as of May 2022. Device is ultrasonically welded, and as such is impossible to get to for serial programming. Worthless for my needs, returning. Probably still works if you want your data stolen by Tuya or you want to eventually get forced into a monthly subscription.

At first these worked great. I used them to monitor a grow tent to see how much electricity it was using and to time the light cycles. It worked for a few weeks but then the light timer just decided to stop working and killed my plants. I even chopped it up to a power surge of some sort and added a surge protector and started over. Then it happened again with no disruption in power. These are trash unfortunately, can’t trust them to simply turn off power on a timed schedule. And they are a pain to connect to the WiFi which adds another level of annoyance so my advice is to look elsewhere.
