It meets all my requirements. A good size, easy to operate, attractive and durable.

Call me an optimist for ordering an umbrella in California, in the summertime, in the midst of an historic drought, but I had not been able to find an umbrella with the classic bent handle (which makes for easy carrying), and I was intrigued by the idea of the NeverWet coating. The umbrella opens smoothly with the push of a button, closes to a slim, compact profile, and based on a little testing with a garden hose, the NeverWet coating works quite well.

Love this umbrella! Its very pretty and large too. Small polka dots add a classic look with the silver handle and hardware. Everybody should have a classic stick umbrella and this is a step above plain old black. Automatic opening works good. Do recommend!

Super nice, super sturdy umbrella. I actually used this is a door decoration and tied a ribbon halfway down and put fake flowers out of the top. After we used that, I now use it as a functional umbrella. Its a very darling umbrella and substantial.

No more shaking off water like crazy before pulling my umbrella into my car or walking onto my hardwood floors when coming in from the rain! Seriously I didnt realize how much water my umbrellas themselves carried on them -- but this one is GREAT for quickly getting in and out of the car...it really saves times and a huge mess. I travel in and out of several buildings a day for work, so this is awesome. I dont think I can go back to a regular umbrella now, the water will annoy me. That being said, the construction of the umbrella is pretty decent quality. The handle is a grippy rubbery surface, easier to hold onto especially when your hand is freezing cold and wet. Size wise, it is not gigantic -- the description makes it seem huge like a golf umbrella, but its about the size youd expect from a stick umbrella: bigger than a fold-up compact model, but not ginormous. It would be comfortable for two people to walk under, or perfect for one person who doesnt want to get wet at ALL (me). It has an automatic opening feature, manual close. Its definitely the umbrella I go for now every time -- the fact that its not compact doesnt matter at all, because the water repellent thing is so awesome it could be the size of a car bumper and Id still carry it...(that being said, its a very normal size to carry, and very lightweight, actually). Im genuinely afraid somebody is going to steal my umbrella now. Its very steal-worthy. Off to write my name on it in permanent marker...

The totes Signature Auto Open Stick NeverWet Umbrella is an attractive umbrella, with a comfortable curved handle, an easy to use push button for opening, and smooth, manual closure. The NeverWet aspect is an invisible coating that is supposed to allow the rain to roll off the umbrella, like RainX does for a windshield. This coating does work well, and the rain does roll off the umbrella, leaving it wet but not dripping. The problem I had with it was that the rain rolls to the bottom of the umbrella, then drips off--on me. After some jiggling around of the angle of the umbrella, I was able to get it to drip on my back rather than my arms or face, and it wasnt such a nuisance. It is advertised to give 46 coverage, and for that to be enough for two people. It will not cover two people, unless it covers heads only (without shoulder coverage). Given the dripping of the droplets, I think it would be extremely uncomfortable to try to fit two people under it. It covers one person very well, though. Personally, I think the NeverWet feature is not that good, nor that necessary, but I am impressed with the ease of opening and closing the umbrella, the coverage for one person, and the look of it. This umbrella looks quite elegant. It is quite sturdy and the automatic opening feature works very well. Closing the umbrella fully requires just a small amount of strength.
