> 3 dayOrdered this to have a hub closer to my computer, so I can hook up devices as needed when testing different things. I didnt like the quality (just dint feel high quality), and whenever I had connections in it, it emitted this higher frequency sound (even with a replacement device) that could be heard when ear level with it. In a media room/den, this is unbearable.

> 3 dayThe switch is surprisingly small for 5 ports and it has a great dense and solid feel due to the size and metal exterior (good things in small...). I am immediately able to see data transfer rates of 400Mbps to my NAS, which is a significant boost from the 80Mbps that I was getting earlier with my old 100Mbps switch. The reason this is less than 1000Mbps is probably because of HDD transfer rate bottleneck. I will test the device with a transfer from an SSD to SSD over the network to test the Gigabit range and update the review. For now, I am a happy networker.

> 3 dayWorked perfectly right out of the box. Now routing traffic for my increasing population of media devices: TIVO, Roku, DVD player, Network receiver. I dont see any problems. It runs without putting out much heat. Definitely recommend.

> 3 dayI have loved trendnet devices for a long time because of their ease of use and reliability. This is no different its an ALL METAL construction which gives a nice fell plus durability and doesnt get as hot as plastic switches. I have 2 of these on my network with 15 devices that require Ethernet this had limited QoS (Quality Of Service) Honestly Vs the cisco switches they have no different it gives me consistent speed with no Packet collision. This switch Routes everything efficiently and i like the fact it has the LED in the front and not the back so i can monitor really easily. The ports are all metal and provide a great contact with the RJ-45(Ethernet Cable) Their spaced enough so you can put Cat.6 Cat.7 Shielded Cables(STP). Overall one of the best switch on the market Performance/Price ratio is unbeatable. 1 more thing sorry. This switch turn on almost instantly with no delay unlike some other switches 1.Con If you need and your Home/Business Requires QoS this is definitely not your switch i will not deduct a star because its not really something thats bad just wanted to point it out. http://www.amazon.com/Cisco-SD2008T-Desktop-Gigabit-Switch/dp/B003BVK7NU/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1324577906&sr=1-1 Thats the best equvilent with gigabit QoS and Led in front by a brand manufacturer
