TurboTax Premier Federal + State + eFile 2008 [OLD VERSION]

Did federal and Ohio returns with ease. I have used before. Only confusing portion is local tax carry over section. efile worked great. I have already gotten Ohio tax bax since I efiled federal and state.

If youre paying someone to do your taxes - STOP DOING THAT! TurboTax walks you through everything! And, even though the new Treasury Secretary couldnt figure out how to use it, TurboTax a) makes sure you get all of the tax breaks you deserve; and b) it is pretty hard to cheat on your taxes with TurboTax, too ... unless you leave out information. The bottom line is that you work your way step by step through TurboTax and NOTHING gets overlooked ... when youre done, TurboTax checks things over for you, too ... then you can file electronically, which is great (and speeds up your return) ... Probably the best feature about TurboTax is the getting started part. That is always the hassle in doing your taxes. Well, with TurboTax all you have to do is get your W2s, 1099s, and any other financial, year end statements ... then you just walk your way through TurboTax ... it has a calculator at the top of the screen giving you an up-to-the-minute status of how much you owe or will have to pay. And, then next year, when it comes time to do this all over again, TurboTax imports all of your information so getting started is effortless. And, with the IRS admitting to a 21 error rate in data entry, Electronic filing is the only way to go ... no chance for data entry errors and youll get your return much faster! Oh, and for you folks who like to or just wait until the last minute to do your taxes, TurboTax saves the day there, too, because youll get your taxes done much faster and without all the heartache. This year there is no fee for online filing ... in fact, if you do your taxes online (which is secure and safe with TurboTax), there is no charge for that either! TurboTax ... it is still the best ... since 1984 ... Disclaimer: I helped build the company known ChipSoft (the original company where TurboTax was born, thanks to a guy named Mike Chipman). I handled media relations and did the strategy and planning for growing the company ... It all started when I did one of the first comparative product reviews on tax software ... I picked TurboTax #1 then and I still feel it is #1 ... after I did the review, Mike contacted me to help him grow his company, so I jumped right in! I believe in this product and can recommend it completely and fully ... you wont believe how great it is to do your own taxes (and it is then when youll learn that with TurboTax you could have been doing your taxes all along!) ... oh, and one final point: In the early days when we were still selling the idea of people doing their own taxes, we started an advertising campaign of what we called love letters ... what we did was with the excess product left over at the end of the year, we sold those for just the price of shipping, with the ad campaign reading, Hey, check out your accountant and see if anything was missed on your taxe return. Well, we got hundreds of letters where people found not just $10 or $20 in deductions were missed ... it was THOUSANDS of dollars ... TurboTax is thorough in making sure you get every tax break you are entitiled to ... so, even if you still feel you want someone to do your taxes, get TurboTax anyway (Costco and Sams Club have great prices on the package) and just run the numbers on your own ... you know, just to be sure ... by doing that, youll see just how easy it is to do your taxes AND you just might find more coins than you would under the sofa cushions! I have used TurboTax Premier for several years. I thaught is was an excelent price for TurboTax Premier 2008 from this seller. I used it to file my taxes and experienced no problems!

This product was an excellent competitive price and the seller was perfect. Was mailed right away and same product would have cost me $40 more. Good deal.

I will not use Turbo Tax anymore if I have to pay an additional $10 for each family members tax return. I have used TurboTax for more than twenty years. I will also give up on using Quicken after more than twenty years using it because of these Intuit changes.

Exactly what I needed. Received TurboTax Premier in a timely fashion. Everything worked as expected. Taxes are almost completed. I was relieved to hear of Intuits decision to give back the multiple use feature. Wise decision.

I have used Tax Cut for years. Too much manual data entry. Turbo Tax is worthy of the name. I have an active investment account and a mutual fund that rebalances frequently. I imported all the 1099 information without error, fast. With Tax Cut I always had to complete the foreign tax credit form myself. Turbo Tax did it for me. How painless. The interview screens are comfortable to use and have plenty of additional information if you need it. With five e-files I can do taxes for the whole family. Pricey but money well spent for me. I will use it from now on.

I have used TurboTax Premier for several years and in the beginning was very satisfied with it: Its easy to use and guides you through your taxes with ease. Pop up help is always available and terms you dont understand are explained. Before TurboTax, my spouse always did the taxes. It took him a week of headaches and increasing stress because the IRS instructions are incompressible to us (and we are both college graduates). When hed submit them there were usually mistakes in the calculations, causing more stress and money as well. Our taxes are very complicated because of a wide range of income sources, so I chose TurboTax Premier, and it solved our problems. It handles interest and investment income and expenses with ease. Using that product we had no more mistakes and the work went much faster. It found deductions we never knew about, so we were very satisfied. But it was too good to last. Every year the program got bigger, more improved, more expensive, and more difficult to download. Last year it took 4 hours to download on our dial-up Internet service, so this year I got the CD from Amazon.com thinking all Id have to deal with would be the upgrades Intuit had added after the CD was published. BIG MISTAKE! The first problem came up when I installed TurboTax on the computer and it asked me to register the product. It could not, would not, and absolutely refused to access the Internet via our dial-up system. All I got were error messages saying it could not connect. Instructions indicated that Id have to turn off the accelerator program we use to make dial-up faster. It still wouldnt connect. Instructions said to disable all security and privacy modes and allow cookies. Still wouldnt connect. Instructions said to disable Windows Firewall. Still wouldnt connect. Instructions said if all these measures fail, go to the TurboTax website and download the updates manually. So I tried that. Download was blocked. I gave up. At midnight when Internet traffic is less, I tried again. This time it started downloading the updates. I was informed it would take 20 HOURS! Ridiculous! So I went to bed let it continue downloading and by 10 a.m. the next morning it was complete. It only took 10 hours instead of 20. Ridiculous!! No program should take that long to download. But worse was yet to come. When I try to install the updates I get an error message informing me it cannot extract the archive. Oh great! I was supposed to block the security modes again. So I did, but it will not install the files. So I cannot install the files I spent 10 hours downloading. Now I have to call them and order a CD with the updates. So why cant the vendor sell me a CD with the updates in the first place? I waited until the last half of March to order it. Now we wait until they mail us the updates before we start our taxes. If wed waited until the last minute wed find ourselves up against the April 15 deadline and unable to get them done. After all that trouble, we tried to get our State Tax Form. --Unable to connect of course. So I went to the TurboTax website to download it manually. First try was refused. Second try the next day it was successfully downloaded. It only took an hour. Ridiculous! I will not be using TurboTax next year. It is obviously not intended for dial-up customers. Unless you have broadband, dont even consider using it via the Internet! I may use it as if I have no computer, ordering everything on CD, but more likely I will try Tax Cut instead, because TurboTax is getting too expensive. Sure, its cheaper than paying a CPA, but its just a mass produced computer program; and it doesnt do what it promises. I did not get the things I paid for in TurboTax Premier this year and undoubtedly if I tried to use the e-file application, it would not be able to make a connection, so we will mail a hard copy. We did that last year because they wanted to charge $15 to e-file. Intuit is greedy, and has no interest in serving the average tax-paying citizen who has no fancy hi-speed Internet connection.

My order mistake...Want it back?

This is an excellant product I have used before for my annual tax report and will use next year.
