> 24 hourWhat an incredible little switch! Ive been running one of the 24-port EdgeSwitch products for a few months now and I loved it. I needed a small PoE switch for a closet downstairs to run some IP Cameras which require PoE. My two main options were this or a Netgear ProSafe 8-port switch, also with 2 SFP ports. I decided to go with this switch, and I cannot complain at all! I had it up and operational within 5-8 minutes without any problem or hesitation! Ive had it going for just shy of 4 weeks now without a single issue. It stays pretty cool, even with 5 ports PoE going! My only gripe about this is that the interface can slow down pretty significantly sometimes, but it frankly doesnt matter when the hardware itself doesnt. I cannot recommend this hardware enough!

> 24 hourI have no idea why ubiquiti requires you to telnet into the switch first and enable the gui This makes the whole thing a pain in the a** since it states nowhere in the instructions you have to do that to get to the gui just do it the way it is done on all switches have the gui enabled this is not a recommended switch for what you have to go through to make it work shame on you ubiquiti

> 24 hourExcellent device, supports all major protocols and technologies out there. Must have if you need passive and poe+ on the same device with tons of features.

> 24 hourCant go wrong with UBNT products..especially their Edge line. Im not a fan of their toughswitch line, as they get really hot and can fail. For the price, you cant beat this switch with Layer 3 capability and SFP ports.

> 24 hourDOA. Unit did not power up. You can hear parts shifting inside the unit when you take it out of the box. MY OWN FAULT FOR NOT CHECKING IT SOONER. The return window closed, so I need to send it to the manufacture for the RMA process. Will update review as the process happens. 1. Discovered issue. 2. Requested RMA online. (Approved right then.) 3. Will be taken to UPS and paying to ship it to Utah. 4. RMA Processing time says 1 to 2 weeks. Update: RMA took about 10 days. New unit works without issue. So I guess this was a case of shipping damage???

> 24 hourIve grown dissatisfied with the Unifi line. Ubiquiti is not listening to users and the Unifi controller has been rocky lately. Multiple interface changes, feature breaking firmware updates etc. These switches do run hot but I converted from the Unifi line which runs just as hot. Did not want to have to run a controller and constantly update firmware anymore for advanced home gear. Love this design though. It is rock solid hardware-wise, the new interface is simple but that is not a bad thing... It does everything I need it to. Superb switch that will run for a long time. I do wish Ubiquiti had more options for 48v and newer POE standards in their smaller Edgeswitches... Most only offer 24v other than this one. I was able to convert all my Unifi gear to these switches and the TP-Link EAP245 access points for little cost other than time spent selling off my old gear. Broke even, no more controller needed and even better performance!

> 24 hourPurchased the Edgeswitch-8-150w in May 2017 and I have been using the full array of 8 Ethernet Ports (4x PoE+, 2x 24v and 2 Non-Powered Devices) and 2 SFP Ports for quite some time now and it hasnt failed me. I also appreciate the fact you can change From PoE+ to 24v From the GUI for Passive PoE Devices. And there was a firmware update that simplified and streamlined the configuration options for the switch. Update: Purchased in May 2017 No Longer Boots in 30/5/2021 and no way to repair it. Failed after 4 years unfortunately.

> 24 hourI like the simple use interface, where you must switch to the advanced interface for some things (this is by design and I think its a good way of doing things). This is not designed for rack-mount (stacked in between any other devices) or for an enclosed space. Keep this in mind when purchasing. Its still a great device, though.
