> 3 dayPurchased the Edgeswitch-8-150w in May 2017 and I have been using the full array of 8 Ethernet Ports (4x PoE+, 2x 24v and 2 Non-Powered Devices) and 2 SFP Ports for quite some time now and it hasnt failed me. I also appreciate the fact you can change From PoE+ to 24v From the GUI for Passive PoE Devices. And there was a firmware update that simplified and streamlined the configuration options for the switch. Update: Purchased in May 2017 No Longer Boots in 30/5/2021 and no way to repair it. Failed after 4 years unfortunately.

> 3 dayCant go wrong with UBNT products..especially their Edge line. Im not a fan of their toughswitch line, as they get really hot and can fail. For the price, you cant beat this switch with Layer 3 capability and SFP ports.

Greater than one weekI have no idea why ubiquiti requires you to telnet into the switch first and enable the gui This makes the whole thing a pain in the a** since it states nowhere in the instructions you have to do that to get to the gui just do it the way it is done on all switches have the gui enabled this is not a recommended switch for what you have to go through to make it work shame on you ubiquiti

> 3 dayGranted I probably just havent updated the firmware enough but this equipment operates separate of the unifi controller. Not good or bad. Just for note. Otherwise this switch is great for either sitting as the hub for a home network where all your Ethernet outlets connect to one device or for a lab like Im using. Definitely worth the money

> 3 dayI like the simple use interface, where you must switch to the advanced interface for some things (this is by design and I think its a good way of doing things). This is not designed for rack-mount (stacked in between any other devices) or for an enclosed space. Keep this in mind when purchasing. Its still a great device, though.

Greater than one weekExcellent device, supports all major protocols and technologies out there. Must have if you need passive and poe+ on the same device with tons of features.

> 3 dayEverything looked fine with the switch during testing, but when put under load of a tower, it would run and work for about an hour, then loose all VLAN settings and rename itself to ERROR-A12. Opened a ticket with Ubiquiti support and they say it is defective. I have another identical switch in another tower and it works fine. But this one is garbage.

Greater than one weekI liked this switch because it is fan-less so it is totally quiet and runs extremely cool. Come with mounting ears but will not fit a standard 19 rack. The ears are designed so you can wall mount it. This can be a 10 port GB Copper switch using 2 copper SFPs (I used ABCU-5700RZ 1000 Base-T 25GBd for the pictures) You will see the link on port 9 in picture 1. Picture 2 is of the VLAN setup which is very simple. Picture 3 shows the PoE which supports both 48 volt auto-negotiate or 24 Volt passive assigned by port. Ships with firmware 1.4 but 1.7 was available. Helpful tip, when uploading the firmware to the switch it took a long time so do not get impatient. I have used the Ubiquiti 24 port EdgeSwitch for years so I was very used to the GUI. It is pretty easy to follow regardless of your experience. In comparing similar products, the 8 port Ubiquiti ToughSwitch is less money than this but the throughput of this, two SFP ports and 150W of total power make it good choice. Plus, this new version will be supported for a long time. This switch has advanced Port Channel (LAG) but I could not test that functionality. This switch me all of my expectations. Any questions, please ask.

> 3 daySolid managed switch for a home lab. Currently using it for a home VM lab with a number of standalone PCs. Works well with a lot of different SFP adapters too!
