> 24 hourIt was just what I expected, but I wished I had looked harder at whistler scanners. They dont have the alpha labeling like Uniden, but they are simpler to program, I think. I had the BC346XT before this, and the programming is the same.

> 24 hourYou definately have to have someone who is capable of programming the scanner or else you will spend a lot of money getting the agencies that you want to listen to. The scanner is coompact, and definately a quality product. I would recommend an external speaker for better sound quality and to purchase extra recharagble batteries and a charger. I go through two batteries about every 6 hours. You cannot recharge the batteries in the scanner and listen to it at the same time.

> 24 hourI have the BCD325P2 scanner and I love it. It took me a while to get the hang of programming it manually, but then I found ProScan, which is an online software that allows you to control and program the scanner from a computer. The scanner feels sturdy and the included antenna does its job. However, even though I live in Los Angeles County, I found that the scanner antenna wasnt cutting it for picking up frequencies throughout LA County, so I bought and set up a rooftop discount antenna and ran cable into my home, and the quality of what Im picking up now is just amazing. I gave this scanner 4, rather than 5, stars because unlike its big brother in the 436 series scanner, this one only has capacity for two AA batteries. The most amount of time Ive gotten out of it was about 2-2.5 hours with the backlight on. Given that most of the time the scanner is on my desk, its always connected to the computer and thus isnt running off batteries. However, for those times when I will need to take the scanner mobile with me, Ill need to bring the USB cable and find a portable charger to go.

> 24 hourIt’s a good product but had to take and get programmed to scan. Haven’t figured out how to make it auto scan channels other than police. Not like others where u take out of box and it automatically starts scan. Instructions a little unclear on use of unit, refers to a lot of other units that doesn’t apply to this unit. Haven’t had it long enough to decide about battery life. Over all it is a good quality product that has down falls of functionality and ease of use.

> 24 hourRadio is good. there is a learning curve but isnt bad for those who are familiar with electronic radios. Found everything i needed to program this via youtube, radioreference, and the owners manual. Only complaint is that the software for firmware updates is windows only, No Mac software available. Uniden ships the unit with 2015 firmware, which needs to be updated with a windows pc. :-/

> 24 hourThe setup is familiar with Uniden scanners. This about where the similarities to previous Uniden scanners end. Historically you could just plug in a scanner and it would charge. For some reason, Uniden decided that it would ask whether you want to charge or not. Seems silly and is a pain. The most important CON to this scanner, it fails when it comes to working a simulcast system. On my system, its performance is about a 3/10. I emailed Uniden to see if they had any planned firmware updates to address the inadequacy of decoding simulcast systems...it was met with no response. For what its worth, they do have a scanner that is supposed to be better at simulcast systems, but this scanner is not the answer. If you are in an area where simulcast is not the system in use, go for it, if not, skip this one...it will only disappoint.

> 24 hourOverall a great handheld. Durable and lasts. Drains batteries; invest in rechargeables. Only uses 2 AA verses the older models that were heavier with 4. I purchased software to easily upload and manage frequencies. Reception is moderate even with a higher gain antenna. Sound quality is ok.

> 24 hourGreat scanner. Have always had uniden scanners and always had good luck with them. It was time to upgrade and happy with the scanner once I got it programmed. The programming is difficult and the third party software down load is I little confusing to undertstand. The software also caused issues with 2 computers as far as the drivers go. But once the software was working programming was very easy. Defiantly going to get and external speaker.

> 24 hourOmg programming this scanner is insanely difficult took me 30 days to figure this out finally got the scanner to work and its amazing scanner. Really needs to come with a step by step software would have made programming much easier I give this scanner a 5 star for overall quality and a 1 Star for programming and setting up the scanner
