> 24 hourThis unit eats batteries. AA alkaline do not last more than 6 hours. I will try rechargeable batteries. Another negative is, as others have said, it is not easy to program. I have some experience with scanning radios and bluffed my way through it but have a hunch I still dont understand all its features. It works for my limited purposes. Lastly, the clip is not very strong and the unit frequently falls from my best. So far, no breakage. On the good side, the reception is stronger than either a paging radio or the scanner I have. It seems to filter out some noise. I use it to monitor two (only) fire frequencies, as I work part time in a fire house with no in-house alarm system and I like to know when the troops are going to converge. It has good range and for a user who must keep track of many frequencies yet be able to set one as a priority, this works just fine. I would buy it again...four starts despite the shortcomings.

> 24 hourThis syncs to your pc and allows you to easily and quickly fill all the banks with custom freq sets you can create and store on your pc. Battery will last a whole day of nascar which is what I bought it for, but no more than that so stock up on batteries. Wish the controls were quicker to use. Assigning priorities and switching banks is a pain.

> 24 hourThe scanner is perfect for the amateur listener. I have had others before and for the price it more than meets my needs. The only thing I would consider a negative is the use of the volumn knob for other purposes, requires you to remember to switch modes to return to the previous function. Its only slightly inconvenient. Other than that I wish there was an option to keep the backlight on for easier identification of the frequency when in low light situations. Easy to operate and program. Light and portable. Excellent product for the price. Couldnt be happier!

> 24 hourso first off this is not my first scanner by uniden my old one that crapped out was a bc60xlt which had problems. anyway the new one that i purchased i love work actually better then the old out dated unit that i threw out. this unit only needs to batteries rather then the old 4 battery which is a major plus because the unit is easyer to stand up and carry. the only real complaint that i have with the unit and company uniden is that its a pain in the butt to program the unit for the first time because the instructions are not clear. i would really recommend watching the youtube video on how to do it makes life and programming really easy and a flash.

> 24 hourThis scanner is rather simple, but still packs quite some features in this small package. Irrespectively of what others may think, personally I read the enclosed instructions and in 5 minutes was able to program the frequencies I wanted. And if I had a question, I did find the answer inside. Please note that this scanner only works with analog systems, it will not work with digital or more sophisticated networks. I use it to listen to ATC with no problems at all, and as a bonus it only uses two batteries! If you expect a preprogrammed scanner that will work right out of the box, this is not the one for you. Overall, for people looking for a simple, affordable analog scanner, into which to program a (known) list of frequencies, this one is definitely recommended.

> 24 hourAs the title indicates, I bought this for monitoring team channels at auto racing events. For the price, it works great for this purpose. It drove two sets of isolation headphones (hooked up through a splitter) with plenty of volume to be heard over the cars. The scan feature worked great and the hold function made it easy to focus in on a particular driver. Battery life was more than enough to last through the race and then some. The only reason Im giving it four stars instead of five is because of the lack of proper instructions for connecting to a PC for programming. It is NOT simply plug and play as the manual suggests. However the process was not that difficult to figure out with a little web searching. Also I had some minor issues with interference at the track, but Im not taking that into account with the rating because I dont know if the scanner was to blame or not.

> 24 hourI saw some reviews that described this scanner as not being able to get good reception on distant transmissions or good battery life. Well,, I get aircraft traffic from an airport 10 miles away not to mention my local airport 5 miles to the south. I have had the radio on for 3 days for 2-3 hours at a time until the low battery alert came on. This is a nice little scanner and the volume is loud at full blast. I also live in an aluminum sided mobile home and it works great inside the house too. I have not done much scanning with it as I know each frequency that I want to listen to so cannot comment on this function other than it picks up our local police just fine.

> 24 hourScanner works great, we bought it since we were going to a NASCAR race and wanted to listen to the driver and crew radios. Bonus was we also got to listen to the race broadcast (less commercials...it was great hearing the announcers tell what they really thought during the commercial breaks). The problem is PROGRAMMING the thing. While I could get 3-4 channels programmed into the thing, it seemed to be more by luck than by following the directions. I also couldnt really get it to prioritize the crew channels over the broadcast channel (since the broadcast was nonstop) even using the priority mode (at least Im pretty sure I had the channel I wanted on priority. I havent used it since the race (and I plan on using it to monitor police, fire, and railroad) mainly because I want to find either a video or instructions that make more sense.

> 24 hourOne of the reasons I chose this over the BC125AT is that the display is bigger. Where the 125 uses 2 lines to display frequency and an alpha tag, this one uses the space for 1 line. I have used scanners enough in my county so I know what frequency is what. Also 500 channels is way more than I need. I had a 20+ year old Bearcat scanner that still worked, but the rechargeable battery was gone, so I had to leave it plugged in to use it. Its nice to have a portable scanner again.
