> 24 hourI picked this scanner up to take to the race track to listen to the team radio transmissions. After skimming through the manual, and watching a 6 minute YouTube video on the Uniden channel, I was able to program the scanner with ease. I dont know how Ive attended raves for the last 20 years without a scanner. Following the races on the scanner makes them so much more enjoyable! The only thing this scanner is missing is alpha tagging. For the races, I just program the car number to the matching channel number, so I know who I am listening to. I would highly recommend this scanner to any race fans.

> 24 hourOnly works with analog. Most big cities are now using digital.

> 24 hourThis is a pretty decent, little scanner. Lightweight and pretty compact. Not bad if you’re just monitoring local municipalities (on analog stations) at home or in the car. What isn’t mentioned in the description is that this scanner CAN NOT access/program high-band frequencies over 512 MHz. There are some localities where I live that use the 800 MHz frequencies and I cannot program them into this scanner. Had I known that prior to purchase I wouldn’t have bought this.

> 24 hourBrought this thinking that I could start doing a hobby I’ve been interested in for a while. I couldn’t figure out even after doing YouTube searches on it to get it out of all lock mode. Also couldn’t figure out how to get my local police feeds. Returned it a week later. After I sent customer support a message which they only say they respond via email, though they do have an 800 number. Call the 800 number and all it says is to email them. Not worth the money.

> 24 hourI use this for rail fanning and it works well. The only small gripe is that the advertised range, with the attached antenna, is not as far as specified. Then again, I am in a hilly area, so that probably makes the range much shorter.

> 24 hourI love it so much and its easy to use and being able to carry it in my old retired police cruiser really brings the car back to life even though its retired and never be used an active one again this scanner has brought it back from the dead

> 24 hourA potential great that falls just short. Excellent features. Excellent for the beginner and average user who enjoys listen to what is going on in areas with low band, VHF coverage. Most often. Rural areas. Not hard to program in frequencies, Ten banks to organize or group your local favorites. Lock-out button to remove unnecessary chatter when something big is going on ( the banks help there also). I am very pleased with the operation of this scanner. But my only beef with the designers of this portable scanner is the battery life. It only uses two AA batteries, instead of four. Really guys?!?? What were you thinking??! So far, my experiments with Rechargable batteries have found Tenergy batteries to last the longest. I get 5 to 6 hours depending on scanner traffic. I always carry spare batteries and spare power cable when taking it out for extended periods. So, If w friend were to ask if they should purchase one. I would say go ahead, it will do the job you need it to do. It has some excellent features, but just understand its one major design flaw and shortcoming. And carry extra batteries when out and about.

> 24 hourLong Lasting Battery Power. Has so many channels available on this radio, that you cant possibly fill it up with frequencies. more suited for racing I guess, but great little compact scanner, good tor the price.
