16-11-2024I live less than one mile from a main US interstate and even with the long range antenna on my roof….. I got crappy reception and static. I tried multiple stations and multiple squelch settings. I even tried to broadcast several radio checks to see if anyone heard my call. Nothing….. now I know a lot of people use cell phones these days but some still use CB radios…. Like trucker’s. I haven’t given up yet, this summer me and some friends are going on a trip and I will see if they can receive me.

> 3 dayI use rechargeable batteries in it to save money. Use it to talk to loaders at the wood mills. Since its portable I can carry when outside the rig to still talk to them. Works great for my needs.

> 3 dayUnit overheated and failed within a few minutes of putting batteries in. Uniden quality is apparently not what it once was.

Greater than one weekThis is a great cb easy to use you will need a bigger antenna recommend tactical 28-in dont go over 28 itll put too much stress on the connection point for the antenna

> 3 dayGot it today, box wasnt sealed, no tape, nothing. Looked just like you pulled it from a retail shelf and slapped a label on it. Plus, its dead, put in new batteries, even tried the cigarette lighter cord. Nothing. Dead as a freaking doornail.

> 3 dayI purchased this kit to have back up communications in case of a breakdown on an upcoming cross country trip. Having to buy nine rechargeable AA batteries was slightly annoying, but with the included cigarette lighter plug adapter you don’t have to buy the batteries at all. It seems quite rugged and the addition of an external antenna definitely helps the range.

> 3 dayWhen I 1st got the radio I could not figure out how to use the scan feature. Sometimes it would work, sometimes it would not. What the instructions will not tell you is that you have to have the squelch knob turned up to the point where there is no more static in order for the scan feature to actually start scanning. I actually went to the trouble of calling customer service only to get someone that was difficult to understand and could barely help me at all. It was only after I sat around and played with it for about an hour that I actually figured out what was going on. That would have been a nice little bit of information to include. I had literally already printed out a return label and put it on a box and was ready to put it back in the package and send it back and figured it out at the last minute.
