I had to stop using the wired one after a couple years of use, not due to hardware failure but the drivers and software not being updated. Ive retried the g600 since then and the EVGA. EVGA has a trash scroll wheel and I tried a replacement as well. First one also started turning its self off after awhile. I decided to try the wireless version of this since I really liked the wired and the software is newer and seems to be updated. So far Im happy. Easy to program buttons and macros. Being wireless will take some getting used to since Im used to having to fight the wire and pull the wire around to move the mouse. Its great but muscle memory still wants to pull the cable. It came already charged and worked before even finding the software/drivers download link. The driver card failed but when I had the old one it worked so I consider that a fluke. I found the software/drivers through their sites FAQ page. Its a bit lighter than Im used to but its built well. Smooth clicking and the scroll wheel is smooth and no clicking or grinding or jumping around. Ill update again if anything changes but I expect it to last awhile. The g600 main button would always break after just a year, and EVGA scroll is trash, where as the old one of this held up physically. Old review: Ive used a Logitech G600 for many years and when it was finally time to get a replacement I decided to try this on a whim since it was cheap and had the full 12 side buttons. Normally I read lots of reviews and research an item first but I didnt this time. Short answer is its great and Im glad I got it. First one negative difference is the ring finger rest. On the G600 that is a button that I could program. Its not been a too big of a deal. I reset those to the trigger button in their profiles but it took some time for my my muscle memory to catch up. My ring finger would still like to do something sometimes. The G600 had clicks left and right on the scroll wheel that could also be programed. I never used this so dont miss it but its a difference to note. Software: Ive seen complaints about the software. Over all its pretty good. On the G600 I had to enter combo keys to do things like cntrl+W for sprint in a game or close window, and I had to set up a hot key combo for volume up and down with the g600. This allows me to just select the option to walk or close window, and even volume with no extra hot key combos needed to be added. The options are already in the software. I did enter a combo key for closing a tab and it worked fine, once I remembered to hit apply. So to me this seems a lot better as it can more easily do what I want. (this part is not relevant to the wireless pro)A little bug that seems to be a software issue. Sometimes the scroll wheel stops working but if I switch the profile to a different one and back it fixes it. This seems to happen after Ive turned the port off but not every time. I turn the port for the mouse off when I leave the room due to pets. So this might not be an issue for most. (this is the issue that got worse later it was either drivers being too old or maybe the cable wearing out) Another minor negative is the G600 could cycle colors as far as Ive found you can only select one color with this. (I just leave the lights off on he pro for longer time between charging. It lasts all day that way) Over all Im very pleased with my purchase(have had it a few months at this time). The roughened texture feels great, the weights help a lot(I have hand tremors and the weight allows for better control). The cable is even better, less stiff. The wheel feels better and looks better. The whole thing just feels and looks good and preforms well with the occasional minor glitch with the wheel. If I were buying today I would select this over the G600, its cheaper and better.

I have been very surprised by the performance of this mouse. This replaced a razer naga which had the notorious liftoff issue that i finally got tired of. My only gripe is the center line of the num pad could be a little more pronounced. Otherwise, for 30 bucks it has surpassed my expectations.

My Logitech G600 bit the dust after five long, hard years of usage, so I sought for a replacement. At the time, the G600 faced supply issues and was nowhere to be found, except on eBay for exorbitant prices. So i went with this; the price was similar to that of the G600 and it had all the side buttons I need. Mind you, I dont really use the side buttons when playing games, but instead I use them for power multi-tasking features, such as file operations, volume and media playback control, opening applications, scripts, and macros- whatever I need to do quickly with my thumb, I need at least 12 buttons. Its a huge boost to my productivity. The mouse is similar in shape and feel to the G600. While its quite a bit lighter, the grip and feel (which any MMO mouse will forever change the way you grip any mouse) didnt take me long at all to adjust, close to instant. Theres the same grip corner for you to press your pinky finger against, your thumb sits between the first two sets of thumb buttons (1 thru 6), pointer and middle finger are resting on the left and right mouse buttons respective and its comfortable to easily switch between clicking and scrolling, and theres also an indentation for your ring finger to rest on. Its really comfortable. The response of the mouse is great, really sensitive and precise. Have been able to play all of the games I was accustomed to playing on my G600 easily with this mouse. The software that it requires is actually quite decent, more than decent. You can control the LED lighting (various lighting effects, changing colors, turning the effects off or just turning the lighting off completely) adjust the DPI (the arrow buttons beneath the scroll wheel allow you to set five different levels of DPI adjustment), adjust double-click speed and various other things, but whats the most-impressive is the remappable button assignments, even blowing Logitechs software out of the water. You can assign volume control (up/down/mute), media playback control (next/previous track, stop, play/pause) file management (cut, copy, paste) to even more advanced things like opening, closing and switching windows, changing web browser pages, running macros (!) and swapping profiles. The macro editor is very simple to use and supports delaying keystrokes. Something Ive noticed is that the button assignments are stored in the mouse itself, not the software. The software may be Windows-only, but I switch over to Linux on my computer and the mouses button assignments stick, and function on Linux as intended! Huge props for that. If I were to name a few setbacks, the scroll wheel is the first component of the mouse that wears out. Despite regular maintenance and cleaning, it starts to feel really tacky as if its sliding against something, producing friction and it becomes clunky to scroll at times. It also lacks a tilting scroll wheel, like the G600, where you can physically move the scroll wheel left or right as two more additional buttons; I used that feature all the time for navigating pages back and forth; was a huge finger saver. For the price, it is a great buy, and should the current mouse I am using wear out, become defective or just needs replacement, I wouldnt hesitate to buy this again.

Very disappointed in this mouse. Worked well a handful of times and now no longer holds any charge at all. Not sure if this is a defect but the mouse does not charge at all anymore and Ive barely used it. UPDATE 6/6/2023: The seller reached out after my prior review and sent a brand-new mouse as a replacement. Customer service is excellent! I will be trying this one out over the next few months and will update if the same issue arises.

The original mouse I received from Amazon had issues with stiff MMO buttons, and was tricky to use during game play. I got in touch of with the seller, and they were responsive and extremely helpful in resolving the issue. A replacement was quickly sent, and no issues were found. Below is my review: I have a Razer Naga Pro and used it as a baseline for a comparison. against the Venus Pro I wanted a dedicated mouse to use with my gaming laptop so I wouldnt have to keep unplugging the Naga from my PC. The build quality of the mouse is noticeably sturdier than the Naga Pro. This version has a rubberized texture on the top and sides of the mouse making it easier to control the mouse, and to press the MMO buttons on the side. 2) The mouse has an ergonomic design and has rests for the thumb and ring finger which helps alleviate hand / wrist fatigue, and assist in controlling the mouse. I have big hands and it just fits. I actually use it for work aswell. 3) The Mouse has decent glides on the bottom, there is no noticeable drag while moving the mouse and feels the same as the Razer Naga Pro. 4) Install was simple, plug n play as all things should with Win10. Installing the app was straight forward and Im able to map the mouse buttons without issue. 5) The Mouse has a visible detent (rows 1-6 & 7-12) and raised indicators on buttons 5 & 8, making it easier to know which buttons to press and which row your thumb is on. 6) DPI options are easy to set and change on the fly. Im able to use one setting for work, and easily change it for gaming without changing profiles. 7) The only issue I had was getting World of Warcraft to recognize the Fire Key (button 13). I set this button to function as the Alt key in the game to activate spells on the second action bar. After some testing, I believe the issue is within WOW recognizing the button, and not the mouse. The fire key (button 13) works in other apps, and have used it while using Excel and Notepad++ to complete functions without issue. I will have to tinker to see what I need to do to get it working in WOW. However all the other buttons work just fine, and can be easily remapped with the app. Overall I would definitely recommend the UtechSmart Venus Pro. It has a great price point and almost all the features of the Razer Naga Pro, which cost over 3 times more than cost of the Vennus Pro. The Naga is really nice, but if $150 for a mouse is too steep, give the Venus Pro a try.

I own two of the previous wired model of this mouse (work & home). I love it. My wife bough the wireless version recently and loved it as well. I then bought the wireless version for work so I wouldnt have to have my go to meetings mouse in addition to my main wired mouse. The pricing (on both versions) is also very reasonable. There are good & bad between the models. There are aspects to the new software that I like and some that I dislike. The wired version was hampered by having to use older software to get all the functionality. This one can use the new software. Lighting: There are additional lighting effects that were not available on the wired version. These features are still lacking in variety and options, but that is a minor complaint. Specifically, while plugged in it pulses a color (based on battery charge) rather than the light setting chosen. Id love to just use it wired when at my desk and wireless when off to meetings and such. I love the light color cycling and miss that when it is plugged in. Weight Compartment: The wired version had the bottom compartment with additional weights. This version is lacking that and thus a bit lighter than I am used to. While I liked the heavier weight it isnt a deal breaker for me. Software: The software, while newer, has fewer options for programming the keys compared to the older version. The older version had a ton of pre-made keys that were easy and available. You can get to the same functionality, but you have to add them as key combinations. An example was the old software had a pre-done entry for copy, paste, and other basic functions. On this one I had to manually create a ctrl + c hotkey. Again, not a huge issue for me, but I could see it being less useful for others who may not have an idea of what to put on all the keys. It certainly felt like a step backwards on that aspect. I suspect this has to do with them storing the profile on the mouse directly rather than in a file. Profiles: The software not having the profiles or way to toggle between them was odd. There is no indicator for which profile you are on. The button on the bottom to toggle profiles just felt odd as well. This might be worth the trade-off for having the two profiles on the mouse though. I absolutely hated that I couldnt convert my current profile onto the new mouse (.pdf profile in older version vs .jmk in this one). This forced me to re-create all my macros and re-assign them. Again, not a deal breaker as it is a one time setup and only impacts people with prior versions. Note, the software is PC only. You can set the mouse up on a Windows machine, it stores the profiles on the mouse, then you can use the mouse without issue on a Mac. Misc: The slot for the dongle on the bottom of the mouse is a bit odd. It sticks out just far enough that you cant use the mouse with the wired charger while the dongle is put in the mouse for storage. I dont understand why they didnt do the recessed tabs on top/bottom of it so you could grip it to pull the dongle out (like most other dongle storage layouts are). I suspect it is mostly a non-issue since you dont remove the dongle while you have it plugged in, it just seemed like an odd design choice (maybe something they can fix in the next hardware revision/version). The Good: Good size that fits hand very comfortably with the nice textured finish Good quantity of buttons to program High precision with adjustable DPI to get mouse movements just right Multiple profiles for different tasks Better lighting options compared to prior versions profiles stored on mouse (limit 2) The Less Good: no additional weight compartment in wireless version (wired version has it) lighting options, while better, are still underwhelming lighting option when plugged in is not existent less pre-created macro/key options in software compared to earlier versions (can manually create for functionality, just lose the ease of it) The Bad nothing that would sway my purchase decision Summary: This is a great mouse for the price. It is very comfortable to use and ticks off all the quality items needed for a functional mouse for gaming or customization of buttons. The software is its greatest weakness, but not detrimental to the point where it has a functional impact (just the area they should focus more effort on). I back this up with this wireless mouse version being my third of this style/brand of mouse for my own use (2 wired, 1 wireless) plus my wifes use of both the wired and wireless version too. Mac users need to be aware of the software limitation so they can get it setup on a Windows machine first, then theyll be ready to go.

EDIT: Its been a month and a half since my initial review, and I will say that my complaint about the 4,5,6 line of buttons being unpressable/hard to press is no longer an issue! After regular use, they fell in line and became very good buttons. The whole keypad is wonderful to use now, I am happy to report! Ive been playing around with this mouse enough and liked it enough that I ordered two more as replacements for when this one eventually kicks the bucket. Its very responsive, easy to configure on the software, though the wording can be a bit hard to understand so bear with it. One of the biggest things that stood out to me instantly is that while the website was slow to load to get the install file for the software, once I had it running, the software was perfect. Light, quick, runs flawlessly, doesnt freeze, lag, or eff with the rest of my system (looking at you, Corsair ICUE). You can configure scrolling speed with the software itself versus having to find it in Windows mouse config, configure the light colors and how fast you want them to pulse. RBG-wise its not as fancy as a Corsair or Razer, but Im more than happy to sacrifice that to only pay $30 and still get high performance. DPI is perfect and FULLY configurable (with sliders, change from 9800 to 9900 DPI if you want to, or go to 14800 from 16500), click performance wasnt as slow as someone else mentioned on here, at least not that I noticed. Perhaps it was fixed with newer models. EDIT: This section is no longer relevant after a month and a half of use, but I will leave it for historys sake: ((My only possibly big complaint that lines up with another review is the buttons on the 4,5,6 line. All the rest of my buttons are great, but just those three are quite stiff and difficult to press. The others feel great, click great, and respond great, so perhaps I could just move abilities around in gaming, but I used to use 4,5,6 a lot on my old mouse (a Corsair) so it will be sad to have to change that.)) I will see if they wear down in time, perhaps theyll get better to press with heavy use. If you have large hands, as well, I cant see this mouse working well for you. Look at a mouse with adjustable side buttons like a Corsair Scimitar (good mice but expensive and you gotta deal with the BS that is ICUE, but Ill say they were solid overall)

This is exactly what I was looking for in a mouse. Good shape, good feel, wireless capabilities, long battery, and of course too many buttons! It also has amazing features like adjustable DPI and RGB lighting to make gaming more fun. As this is my first gaming mouse I have a lot to get used to. The twelve buttons on the side are easy to find with the - indent on the numbers 5 and 8, but for now I still misclick. The downloadable app is easy to figure out. All of the buttons are highly adjustable as well as the mouse color scheme. Nowhere on the box explicitly said what that button on the bottom does called Profile Switch. It basically lets you have two mouse settings, which is insane. Ive had my mouse for two days and I think its the best. There are some minor details that may deter some elitist mouse buyers. CONS: -The RGB settings are great, but trying to find a solid color is tricky. As an example, it took a couple attempts before I got purple and not magenta or pink or white washed purple. -The DPI maxes out at 16,000... Apparently higher end mouses can go higher but come on give me a break. You wont need a mouse to go higher than 8k EVER. 16k is extremely fast. -Clicking the twelve side buttons is not as ergonomic as possible. I find my hand sliding further back on the mouse just to hit the last six buttons. Otherwise my thumb has to arch a bit. This could be an oversight to anyone who has used a gaming mouse for years. -This mouse is not silent, every button makes a click sound. I own a silent mouse and so it was one of the first things I noticed. The main right and left click buttons are normal as well as the fire button and DPIs. The twelve on the side are admissible as they are muffled. PROS: -Great feel and texture. My hand is always comfortable when using the mouse and no button is out of reach. The wheel has a rubber grip and the rest are smooth plastic. -Setting up the buttons and macros was very easy to do, hardly took any time at all. The macro options allow one button press to act as hundreds, if thats your thing. Infinite possibilities. -Being wireless is actually an option. The box comes with a wire which allows for charging and/or wired play. -One mouse becomes two mice with that Profile Switch button on the bottom. Maybe your friend wants to use it and your macros confuse them? Maybe you need different macros for different games? You have options. I think the mouse is fantastic. If youre looking for a mouse with good quality and function, this is it.

Great option! The feel of this mouse in the hand was super comfortable due to how it is molded. I have smaller hands with a fingertip grip and the width of the mouse feels larger in the hand too but again very comfortable. Hubby has large meatier mitts with a palm grip, and he says he likes it and feels great. Weight, button options, glide all so far so good. Great mouse for the $ and would recommend.

The Good: The mouse is comfortable and feels pretty solid. The left and right click feel great, the wheel has a nice soft ratcheting that is very quiet and just barely felt but gives a slight haptic feedback and keeps the wheel from just spinning freely. Most of the side buttons feel nice and clicky but there are a couple (Notably the 5 and 10 for me) that are a little more mushy and dont provide much feedback. Im sure it varies between mice, you may have no mushy buttons or several. The buttons are also small and close together so it can sometimes be difficult to hit a middle row button without hitting the top or bottom row, but the columns are easy to distinguish thanks to the opposing angles. The Bad: So the mouse itself is pretty solid for the price, although longevity has yet to be determined. However, the driver software is not great. It has decent configuration options to map pretty much any action you might want and is not difficult to use, but the combination button assignments (Alt or Ctrl + another key) only work about 10% of the time, randomly. The majority of the time, it will only register the key as if alt or ctrl were not being held, making the feature useless. There is a workaround by setting up a macro, but that is a tedious process that shouldnt be necessary. The software is also somewhat barebones. It has 5 profiles you can set up that are stored on the mouse, and you can also save profile configurations to your hard drive for later recovery. The profiles have to be selected manually, there is no option to set profiles to run with certain programs. There is a button on the bottom of the mouse that cycles through the profiles, or you can select them manually within the configuration utility. For some reason after spending a good chunk of time setting up all the macros and keybinds for the side buttons, after the first time I restarted my computer the config tool just said disabled under every button and wouldnt let me change any bindings. The problem persisted after uninstalling/reinstalling both the config software and the mouse itself, and rebooting. The mouse continued to work under the profiles I had already set up by using the profile select button on the mouse itself, but the software was unable to communicate with the mouse to detect the profiles or change them. Somehow, after a lot of wasted time and frustration, the situation corrected itself when I moved the mouse to a different usb port. Im still not sure what caused this, but it could be unique to my computer. TLDR; It feels well made for the price, is comfortable to use, with an ergonomic design, ringfinger rest, and a textured, grippy surface, and most of the buttons feel nice and crisp, but the configuration software is somewhat lackluster compared to G-hub or Synapse.
