I bought this mouse in 2019 it served admirably in most uses and I enjoyed it. The software included is a bit janky but it does the job. The buttons on the mouse all worked until the end which Ill get into. It lasted exactly 1 1/2 years. This mouse took everything I could throw at it really and Im not a hard user but the laser randomly gave up one day it just was literally burned out. Just DEAD, no reason. If I had dropped it or banged it around at all I would accept that its not the mouses fault but me, but where I game there is no where for the mouse to ever fall except into pile carpet from a 2-3 foot drop. My guess is this laser is the cheapest part of the build. Everything else about it seems to be well put together and I even dismantled it to see if anything just came lose on the inside that I could fix, but alas that was not the problem. Many mice turn their lasers periodically if you dont move the mouse around for a long period of time to avoid burning out the laser but this one does not so if you plug it into a 24/7 machine like I do you may expect similar lifespans. Just a warning, and this is not a problem that you will have if you just get the Logitech MMO mouse that literally costs the same. Ive used a lot of mice and Ill rank them like this: #1 Logitech. Ive only had one logitech mouse fail, most of them just wear out through my use. If they have a problem its with the braided outside cords that always fall apart. Great ergo/build. Smallish though for grown men narrow spacing between the top part and the mmo button area. Ok software, not too much on features but does all you want. The gaming products including their MMO mice are not very comfortable for larger hands. #2 Utech Venus - Its basically good. Unplug it when you arent using it or it burns the laser out. Large Deck might be more comfortable if you have bigger than women hands. Women and children might find this mouse harder to use. Software is the worst part of it. #3 Razer Anything - These are garbage. Ive had so many of them break its not worth mentioning the models. They look good on the outside, but one minor drop and the the insides look like smashed plates. Buttons sometimes stop working due to their button designs usually entirely depending on the top of the mouse being in order to mechanically actuate. Any external damage or drop will usually directly damage a button. (As opposed to the others mentioned here where the buttons are not part of external housing, so they are physically isolated.) The button package internal to the mouse pcb usually separates from the board due due to crap solder jobs. On Razer mice the right and left clicks are extremely vulnerable to impact because they are part of the body of the mouse. There is just a small piece of plastic (or a nub) going from the top of the mouse to the board switch. The nub breaks, your button doesnt work anymore. There is very low Q/A on Razer devices and while they will be the best you can buy while they work they wont work after the first few impacts. Ive owned the Naga, Boomslang, and DeathAdder and they have all failed for similar reasons. Their software is the best, Ill give them that. (At least when they feel like updating it to the latest Windows version.)

Honestly the first time I bought this I didnt expect it to last long because I took it with me to a deployment. The second one I bought in September 2022 and randomly died last month (April 2023). The wired one at home is still going strong but thats probably because it doesnt get shoved into my backpack and dropped of my table from time to time. Other than that I love the weight and the programmable buttons.

I have the wired version and love it. Im not a gamer though. The black speckled finish wore off with my old wired version so I hope this one is different. I had to scrub it off with a toothbrush. The wired one let you apply custom shortcuts to the DPI buttons which worked great for volume control, but the new software with this one doesnt let you change them. I couldnt get the old software to recognize the wireless version. You can connect to a 2nd machine by plugging in the USB-C charging cable. You just have to unplug the USB cable to reconnect to the machine with the wireless dongle

I love this mouse and when I saw they offered a wireless version of their wired MMO mouse that I had been using for years, I jumped at it, thinking it would be a clone of the wired version but wireless. BUT, I was wrong. Physically it is a clone(minus the weighting) and feels great in the hand. The give you a second set of sliders and a pouch, which is a nice touch. The mouse has a nice compartment to keep the little wireless dongle handy too. Where they dropped the ball is on the software. I have no idea why they though it was a good idea to... A. Lose the ability to reprogram the DPI buttons. Now this is only has 16 keys programmable instead of 18 like the wired version. B. Lose the ability to program the buttons with keys not on the keyboard, such as MOUSE4 or MOUSE5 and other similar keys. This is possible on the wired version(and just about ANY other mouse I have ever used). C. You are now restricted to switching, ONLY with the button on the bottom of the mouse(there is no longer way to assign profile switching to a button due to the issue listed under B above) between only TWO profiles instead of FIVE like on the wired version. These are some critical options what I used in the past on the wired version and are making me think about returning it. I have no idea why they couldnt have duplicated the SAME functionality between the wired and wireless software. Im hoping they update the software soon to enable these missing functions, but Im not holding my breath. Pros Solid construction Feels great in the hand light Cons SOFTWARE Id love to give this 5 stars but because they dropped the ball on the progammability of the thing, which is a main part of the mouse, I can only give it 3 stars till the software is brought up to the level of the wire version. **EDIT** 5/4/2020 - Please stop emailing me offers of gift cards to delete my review. My review is an honest review, which is supposed to be what is posted here. If you want my review to be better, update the software with better functionality. The software hasnt been updated in over a YEAR and is still the original version released. **EDIT** 11/5/2020 - So here we are almost to 2021, and NOT ONE single update to the drivers/software for this mouse, despite the promises earlier this year(when they kept bugging me to delete my review) that things were being worked on. The drivers listed are still the same 3.0 drivers from MARCH 2019.

So my first impression looking at the box made me worried. It looked like a typical walmart offbrand design with bold arial font and red lettering like it was supposed to be some cool hi-tech product you could compare to Razer or Logitech. It didnt fool me in the least, and my heart sank because I depend on amount of reviews + star rating, and I know Amazon has some funny tricks when it comes to products being rated highly despite poor quality products. I opened the box, and immediately set the thing on my lap and - despite odd looks from my friend who was there - started clicking the buttons and getting a feel for them. From the get go, I was satisfied with the click feel and its responsiveness, the location of the buttons, and (most importantly) the size of the mouse. I have large hands, so Im not sure where some reviews are coming from by saying large hands arent recommended, but the mouse fit perfectly without me resorting to an uncomfortable grip. I wasnt quite convinced yet, so I plugged the puppy in and popped the CD in to install the driver (and eventually update it online). If youre a gamer, or anyone who has worked on a computer for at least a year, the software was easy to set up and understand. You should know how to unzip files, install basic programs, set your DPI, navigate basic menus, and understand basic terminology. Its not rocket science, and therefore the setup was a breeze. Its a basic program with little to question, and Ive already got it pulsating red like a black gaming setup should (in my opinion, heheh). I was worried the number pressing might be a problem for my big thumb. Its... not perfect, mainly because of my thumb, but with enough practice I have no doubt it should be as easy as any other mouse Ive had, and this is coming from a Logitech fanboy. Yes, yes, Razer is fine too, but for the price and the quality I cant deny that this is a quality mouse. The texture on the left and right click is satisfying as it allows for a good grip despite sweaty hands, and the fire button just to the left of the left click makes it an easy reach in case you want to program it as an ultimate ability in gaming (or an undo button in graphic design, for instance). Programming buttons, by the way, is very easily customizable, and with enough options to choose from Im satisfied that any need I have to satisfy can be done with this mouse. Even the DPI arrow buttons under the scroll wheel can be remapped, which is great when youre like me and like to have as many buttons mapped to your mouse as possible for ease of use. As far as the entire shape goes, its comfortable for my large hands and the thumb rest is a nice touch so youre not rubbing your mouse pad all the time. On the opposite side, theres a protrusion that allows you to rest your ring finger there so it allows you to have a stronger grip on the mouse itself, which should be an important feature in any gaming mouse. Overall, this mouse is one of the better mouses Ive had the pleasure of using. The weights came already installed and, again, as a big handed fellow, I like the heavier weight so it has some give to it. The material its made out of has a nice tactile feel so that it wont slip out of your grip, and while having color pulsating from the buttons isnt a necessary aspect to a gaming mouse, its still pretty cool. I write this review having had my heart drop with worry that this mouse wasnt going to cut it and Id have to return it like some cheap knockoff, but Im pleasantly surprised. The drivers were easy to find, and I have no doubt if I needed customer service to help out they would. I feel like I invested well into a cheap but quality product. Dont take my word for it though, if youre a gamer with a hunger to customize macros and assign functions to your mouse (or even a graphic designer who hates memorizing hotkeys) you should try it out yourself! You wont be disappointed.

its a great mouse with really good software. I used the wired version for years until the middle mouse button gave out, so i was quite happy to see they had an updated wireless version. It was a breeze to set up my macros and hotkeys, I really like this new software. Old wired version got super buggy for me, but so far so good with this version. The best feature about the wireless version for me is the battery life. I got this mouse a month ago and the first and only time I charged it was the day I got it. Ill admit Im not using the lights on it, but still its absolutely amazing.

This is a comparison of the Razer Naga Chroma/Trinity and the UtechSmart Venus from a long time Naga user and someone with very small hands (7” from wrist to end of middle finger and 3” wide palm). Due to a lemon naga mouse and the cost differential I decided to abandon my decade long use of the razer naga and try Utechsmart’s venus. Mouse and software loaded easy. Software seems less bloaty than razer synapse. In all easy to figure and set up. Would be made sweeter if I could have imported naga settings and macros but that was probably too much to hope for. I love the mouse weight and the fact I can adjust the weight and the glide (points for Venus). For my hands, I feel like the Venus is too much mouse. I kept going back and forth and the main reason the Venus felt clunkier/larger (very little actual difference in size) is the slope of the left/right mouse click buttons forces your fingers to very specific locations where as the naga allows you to shift them side to side plus has a slightly narrower mouse wheel. The result of this design is my index finger and middle finger sit 5/8ths of an inch apart on the Venus and only 3/8ths of an inch apart on the naga. This feels awkward but could also be a factor of 10yrs of Naga use. The real issue in the right/left mouse buttons in my fingers fall about 1/2” short of the end on both the Naga and the Venus. However, on the naga the click of those buttons is roughly the same if you are at the end of the mouse or halfway up. On the Venus the click is notably firmer/longer 1/2” from the edge than on the edge. Points for naga on this (smaller hand) ergonomics. Next the side 12 buttons. I use these extensively every button is bound and most have a shift and an alt modifier. The actual 12 buttons seem nicely designed, where I prefer the naga’s less tilted buttons with increasing size as you go up I assume this is from long term use and with adjustment/practice I shouldn’t have any issue with the Venus. So, I’ll call this a push. However, on both the Naga and Venus I am forced to canter my hand slightly in order for my thumb to reach the 1 button and this is how my hand sits. The forced index finger and middle finger contours/buttons on the Venus makes this feel more awkward (and/or 10 yrs of comfort with the naga). On the Venus my middle finger crosses over the dpi down button (but not in such a way as to accidently click it). All that adds to the clunky feel and further spreads my index and middle finger which makes me feel less control in those fingers (though practice might overcome this). However, the real issue is the design of the palm rest on the Venus. The palm support peaks over the 9 key and then drops all the way to the mouse pad, leaving only the palm area under my little finger doing most of the mouse control --my palm barely makes contact with the lighted symbol. The naga palm area stays elevated to the 12 button and then only drops to 1/2” from the ground rather than all the way. It is a much gentler drop with more contact space allowing my entire palm to connect (even cantered to reach buttons) and thus providing far more control. An optional/changeable plate to offer different palm connection would go a long way to improving this mouse for small hands. Bottom line: Price (Venus); Software (Venus); Weight/movement (Venus); small hand button/mouse ergonomics (Naga)

Mouse is absolutely amazing for the price, easily beats out R.A.T. brand mice or other over priced abominations. People here say the buttons are hard to press, that is far from true. They give you just barely enough resistance to confirm with your finger that it was press, easy to use. Has rapid fire button, which can be easily configured to do anything else. You can make macros on the software you get with your package, so you have absolute freedom to control your world with this mouse. The card itself is actually a USB drive, so you can have a fancy little software with you for any computer. Lighting is fantastic, although I wish it supported hex coding. You have multiple lighting modes and colors to choose from, so dont worry about that whatsoever. Goes well with any set. Battery life is as describes, long and heavy use for three days straight (more if you happen to have a life or sleep like some kind of healthy human.) Some people here complain it dies too quickly, they most likely forget to charge it. This is not civilian battery operated mouse, so it will not last weeks with power, it already tells you this. You can use the mouse either with or without a wire, although most likely you dont want to be wired so make sure you charge it when not in use, otherwise that is your fault and not the products. DPI is customizable! Rarely any mice let you control this amazing feature, and the mouse lets you have multiple profiles (modes of saved settings.) Being able to control your DPI directly means you can achieve the perfect mouse speed for yourself, make it easy to snipe that Heavy across the map giving sandwiches to a Spy before he can come out and backstab you in 2Fort for the seventh time. (Team Fortress 2 on Steam, the game is also free) The mouse is very comfortable to grip, leaves my hand feeling well rested even in heavy use. The design is to prevent slip, something that means it gets an odd texture on top to prevent your fingers from slipping off if you swear or so on. On top of this, the mouse is also nicely designed to have enough of its own weight to prevent slipping on the mousepad The accuracy of the scanner is competitive level t technology, the only person that can use great tech for good is you. Destroy the battlefield at the same rate and pace as the best gamers in the world. (Skill not included, please play good with mouse to use it for the absolute best of its ability.) If my review did not cover everything you need to know about this mouse then Im sorry but you probably cant read. Just kidding, I will provide any answers needed for this product, this is a mouse I stand firmly with. Do not spend money in anything else, it will be a disappointment, even if you dont want to use this for MMO.

So Im coming from a whole host of cheap no-name mouses, i am by no means the authority on mice! Ive never had anything remotely customizable as this. This mouse just oozes quality, even the packaging was beautiful and well thought out. The USB stick hiding inside of a business card is absolute genius. The cable is super strong, fits nicely into the USB outlet, and is instantly recognized by my computer. Okay UTechSmart, you have my attention! I am rather stunned by its performance considering how cheap it was, having no idea how useful it could possibly be to me. The software is very nice and you can really fine-tune your experience with it. I am an audio editor and graphic artist (and gamer, of course), and there seems to be no end to the uses I can put this to. Its completely streamlined my workflow when it comes to Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop. So many keyboard shortcuts are now at the tip of my thumb. I expected to only want this for gaming, but Im finding myself playing around more in my Adobe programs getting my creative juices flowing, all because its become more fun and streamlined by the programmable buttons on this mouse. Note: Be aware that with the software, its going to lag for a couple seconds when you switch from one profile to the next. This screwed me up for a few minutes before I realized that its shifting every single button, even the light settings over to a new profile, so it makes sense that its not instantaneous. I was concerned with the way it might fit me because of my rather large man-hands, but its like slipping on a pair of super comfy well fitting socks that feel like they just become a part of you. The rubbery grip feels amazing in my palm, and the thumb and middle finger rests fit me perfectly. Every last button is extremely easy to reach, even the ones that other reviewers had me thinking would be in an awkward placement. This mouse feels so natural and really has to be the most ergonomic mouse Ive ever held. At the time of purchase, this mouse was right around the same price ($33) as the heavily discounted Logitech G600, which is a famously awesome mouse (that Ive never tried.. and it should be awesome for 80 bucks..) I poured over reviews and comparisons of the two and was leaning toward Logitech just because it has a great reputation behind it. I honestly cant remember what made me choose this UTechSmart mouse, but Im so happy I did. My only regret now was not coughing up the extra 20 bucks and springing for the pro wireless version of this same mouse. If youre on the fence, you wont regret hitting the buy button!
