Mine eventually broke after like 3-4 years of very heavy use, but at the price it absolutely cannot be beaten for the quality you get. The driver software is also terrible, but thats common across most gaming mice and youll have to play with different versions of it in order to get a configuration that works for you.

Ive had THREE Razer products fail me within about a year of purchase, so I vowed to never buy another Razer product again. When it came time to buy a new mmo mouse, I knew I wanted it to be wireless as I was sick and tired of my braided mouse cables getting caught on everything. Also because I had heard that wireless tech has gotten much better over time and, for the most part, you no longer have to worry about new wireless mice being laggy or losing connectivity like back in the day. The difference between wired and wireless mice, at least to me, has become indistinguishable. Unfortunately, love or hate Razer, they were the only kids on the block with a wireless mmo mouse for a VERY long time. NO ONE else was doing it. NO ONE. But I was not about to pay close to $200 for shoddy, overpriced Razer junk. Instead, I waited patiently for some other company to come along and challenge Razer. Years went by. Decades. Millennia. Finally, UtechSmart came to my rescue. Ive been using this mouse for about 4 months now and am honestly very surprised at how much I enjoy it. Chinese brands have really been upping their game lately, at least from my experience. This mouse has a lot going for it. On the bottom theres a switch for On (Without Lighting), Off, and a second On option (With Lighting). When you stop using it for a bit, the lighting turns off and it goes to sleep to conserve battery, so you dont have to worry if you forget to turn it off. When the mouse detects movement, the lighting turns back on. If you dont use it too often, you can leave it there for days upon days (maybe even weeks) without having to charge it again. To charge it, just plug any ol USB-C cable to the front and youre set. The lighting turns white and flashes, or breathes, on and off to show that its connected and charging, which could be annoying if youre trying to sleep. The software appears basic, but it does everything I need it to, without any fluff. You dont need to create an account or any of that nonsense. You can change lighting color, effect, brightness, DPI (there are 5 speed settings), record macros and map all buttons (including the left and mouse clickers) to something else, with the exception of the two DPI adjustment buttons, which is unfortunate, but no huge loss for me, personally. In terms of size, weight and feel, Id say its definitely a wider mouse than most. Its lighter than youd expect, though. If you own a Logitech G600, its a bit wider in comparison. It also seems to be ever-so-slightly lighter, though that may just be because its larger so the weight is more spread out. Beneath the bottom row of the 12 side buttons, it flares out so you can rest your thumb; a feature I didnt think I needed, but that I actually find myself using more and more. The texture of the mouse is rough, as opposed the usual smooth, like most mice. Whether thats a good or a bad thing it up to you. It does seem to help with making all those greasy, oily, cheeto-dust stains not so obvious. Finally, one of my biggest gripes with a lot of mice is how hard it is to actuate the middle mouse button. On this one, it feels easier (and sounds softer) to press than a lot of other mice Ive tried. I do wish it were even easier, though. All in all, Im very happy that UtechSmart made this mouse and HIGHLY recommend it, especially since it looks like, at the time of writing this review, its the only wireless 12-button mouse on Amazon. I hope they consider making a newer edition with even MORE buttons. Maybe a 3rd clicker next to the right clicker, similar to the Logitech G600, and an additional button next to the left clicker. You can never have enough buttons! MORE BUTTONS!!!

I purchased this mouse January 10th 2019, and I stomped into my purchase and I felt the need to write a review just cause of how good this is. Think that I’ve been having this mouse for four years and still works like brand new. I have nothing bad to say about this mouse, for the price? It’s really unmatchable, everything is supposed to work as intended with no delay.

Edited, Jan. 8, 2021: I wanted to write this revised review sooner but of course, Amazon has to approve all reviews and then I forgot until now. Anyways, Ive dropped the review down to three stars because this mouse is just average. You cant hold down the button next to the LMB and press another button on the side, i.e. binding top button to Ctrl and pressing a side button to double the amount of button presses. As previously mentioned, you cannot remap the DPI buttons whatsoever. The wired mouses software is much more in-depth and lets you do all of these things, from what Ive researched. After using this mouse for several weeks, the side buttons are no longer consistent in feel and sound. Some buttons are still tactile, while others are almost silent and mushy. The right click feels much softer than the left click, to the point where I almost dont realize Ive pushed it. The only saving grace for this mouse at this point is the fact that its wireless. I wont be returning the mouse as its not worth the hassle, but Im definitely going to just stick with a Logitech G600. For the price of the wire, I can enjoy double the button presses with everything being customizable. And its cheaper a majority of the time. The pouch it includes is nice, and Ill definitely use that. The mouse is not a bad mouse, its just not exactly what I need for my playstyle. Like I said, its just average. I knew getting into this that I couldnt remap the DPI buttons, but when I found out about the lack of multi-button support and the wired mouses counterpart having much more in-depth software...I was very disappointed. I really feel like the issues Ive come across are software related, but I dont foresee a software update coming anytime soon for these mice. *****Original Review Below***** Please UtechSmart, let us remap the two buttons under the scroll wheel! I personally never change my DPI once I set it via software, but having the option to use the buttons for something more functional would be nice! Pleeeeease. I know there are several other reviews mentioning this. Those two perfectly good buttons are unused otherwise. Created macros also do not show up in the macro list when attempting to assign them to a key. Because of these two easily fixable software issues that have STILL not been updated, Ive docked a star. As for the actual mouse, its great! First impressions, I was definitely pleased to see a carrying pouch and a detachable braided USB-C cable. I bought this mouse as a substitute for my G600 while I travel, as there is no wireless version of the G600 yet. The driver software is included via a very snazzy looking business card that flips out into a baby USB drive. It does the win+r command and types in a command to open a Dropbox with the software files. The buttons themselves are alright, theyll definitely do the job. The scroll wheel is good, though I wish it tilted like my G600 too. But as thats a hardware thing, I can accept that tradeoff for wireless connectivity. Clicks are not offensively loud like some mice, which Im definitely grateful for as Ill be using this while traveling. However, the side buttons are a bit audible, much louder than the G600, but still not terrible. (If you have a Nintendo Switch, the side buttons sound similar to pressing the face buttons on the joycons.) The finish on the mouse is...different than Im used to. But its not bad, just a bit textured. Its not smooth like a G600 or a Naga, but more like a soft sandpaper, if you will. The entire mouse feels like that except for the shiny section in the middle where your palm rests, and the side buttons. Theres a spot under the mouse to store the tiny USB dongle, and its magnetic rather than snapping in. A very nice touch as I have short fingernails and trying to pry something like that out would be a nightmare. I also enjoy the resting spot for your ring finger, and although its not a button like my G600, its still second nature for me to have a finger there. The third clicking button I use on my G600 was just moved to the left of the left mouse button, which I am perfectly fine with. Its not a bad placement and I can easily reach it plus all twelve of the side buttons, effectively doubling the button inputs. Getting onto the software, its...usable. When I first installed it, I could not for the life of me get the colors on the mouse to change. And as I was searching for the solution, suddenly about 15 or so minutes later, the lights just started cooperating. Very odd. It works flawlessly now so I have no complaints, just confusion. The software lets you choose what buttons you want to use, but you have to choose the option Key Combination and just press the key without any modifiers in order to do so. Just in case anyone has any confusion like I did at first. The lighting is all one color, no per-key RGB here. Which is fine, my G600 is the same. I do enjoy the amount of lights though! The scroll wheel illumination is very nice, and the logo illumination is bright. However, the lights on the front of the mouse seem to be different colors between the three grills on either side, which isnt a big deal to me personally. Mapping keys (once I figured it out) was quick, changing the DPI setting via software and disabling the other DPI profiles (hence, making those buttons useless) was painless. Im grateful the software allows macros, but I couldnt get them to show up in the macro list when I tried to assign them to a key, which, like the DPI buttons, makes them useless. TL;DR Pros: The mouse comes with a nice pouch and braided USB-C cable. Feels good to use, a decent wireless substitute to the G600. Mapping keys was quick and painless. Lights are bright and seem to be fairly accurate. (Note: You cannot change the four lights next to the DPI buttons, so I turn mine off.) Mouse weighs similar to a G600. Cons: THE SOFTWARE. Seriously. Please, let me remap the DPI buttons just like the side buttons (which the wired version allows) and let me have the ability to use my macros. If I knew coding and could fix it myself, I absolutely would. Literally the only things wrong with this mouse are software related. I dont understand why these issues havent been fixed. If you can have a fancy business card that runs an entire string of code to download software, why cant said software be fixed?

This is definitely not made with FPS in mind. I really like the availability of customizable buttons at thumbs length. The program is simple, options a plenty, and 5 profiles to cover all game types after you set them up. Basic but plenty of options for polling rate, DPI, double click speed. I really like the weighted pegs you can add or remove to your liking (I use half of total). The conventional mouse buttons are wide and have satisfying feedback when pressed, DPI buttons customizable for any DPI level or new functions all together. The side buttons give a soft feedback when pressed but are reliable, easily accessible with the thumb, although I assign important binds to the buttons in the corners of the panel because its easy to lose your place with the middle buttons without a little extra attention of a direct press with thumb tip. RGB is nice enough, could use more light designs than just breathing. Scroll wheel is smooth and functions as it should. Now here is my main issue, which is entirely based on my own situation. The sides of the body have a wing for the thumb and a third groove to rest either the ring or pinky finger. However in order to rest ring finger you have no place for the pinky, and if use it for the pinky then your forced to ADS with the ring finger, resting the middle on a tiny spot between mouse buttons and beyond the scroll. This grip feels horrible in that case most definitely not whats intended. So back to having a floating pinky you are forced to squeeze against the mouse body to avoid dragging it on your pad. Back to the thumb wing, its the perfect length to feel impractical, as if you have to balance or squeeze to keep it on the mouse. I have a moderate hand size (I feel) and in order to control my movements accurately under the entire design, I have to use a claw grip leaving the cup of my hand above the curve designed to support it. And in order to maintain the grip Im stuck using my pinky and thumb to keep it against the base of my palm, this frequently fatigues the muscles of my thumb in my palm. If I was to rest my entire hand against the mouse body then Id have to use the last knuckles/pads of my fingers (farthest from nails) which isnt as practical as striking with fingertips. This is an mmo mouse and not comfortable for what I need. However thats my issue between buying it for the wrong games and my hand size. That all said its dependable, sturdy, and functions amazing for $30. Thats the takeaway, its amazing for its price. I still perform very well using it in COD:MW but thats probably because Im so used to it. Definitely worth $30 if you know what you want it for.

This mouse is quite pleasantly sized. I use a kind of a broad claw grip and prefer it when the butt of the mouse rests in the palm of my hand, which this does comfortably while still leaving my fingers well positioned on the buttons. Its also remarkably comfortable, almost as if it was designed with my hand specifically in mind. Obviously your mileage may vary on this one but the at rest position for the third (ring) finger on my hand is well placed, with just the right bit of additional contour to aid in gripping the mouse when lifting it. In addition the descending curve of the side allows my pinky finger to rest against the mouse, partially touching, instead of awkwardly dangling in space as with so many mice, while at the same time allowing me to feel a bit of the pad below so I can judge distance precisely. I cannot over-emphasize how pleasant this is to hold an d use. The action on the scroll wheel is not too stiff nor so soft that I fear accidentally scrolling. The wheel is a straight two axis forward/backward with a distinct rest at each stop (no free spinning here) which is just as I like it. Since theres no tilt wheel theres no risk of accidental presses from the first and second fingers at rest or while scrolling, but the wide position of the buttons is such that this frame could accommodate a four axis scroll wheel without trouble. The action on button1 and button2 is unremarkable and adequate, quite average and nothing worth mentioning. There is an additional button to the left of button1 which is well positioned and is not at risk of accidental pressing, is easily found by touch, and easy to click at will. The DPI control buttons in the top center are raised and sufficiently stiff that there is essentially zero chance of accidental adjustment even during furious use. There are four DPI settings and LEDs clearly indicate which is chosen at any given moment. On the thumb side is a 12 button num bearing the digits 0-9 which act as num keys as well as minus on 11 and plus on 12. I had thought that having so many buttons on the side where the thumb rests would either make accidentally depressing them hard or deliberately pressing them hard, and in any case detract from the ability to grip, move, and lift the mouse but this turns out not to be the case. My thumb can rest such that I can with grip the forward edge of the button enclosure--and do so as firmly as I like--without any accidental clicks. Rocking the thumb back and working by feel makes it fairly easy to click most--but not all--of the keys. I find 1-3 and 7-9 to be easy, 10-12 to be awkward, and 4-6 to be somewhat difficult without accidentally also depressing buttons on adjacent rows. This is far better than I anticipated and leaves me with a gratifyingly large number of buttons available at a twitch. I am a bit disappointed not to find a more usual thumb button on the side forward from the num pad buttons. It seems that there is sufficient space for one and such a button would fit nicely with my grip style, where the num pad position does not. Its not an insurmountable problem to move my thumb back for clicks but forward would be far more compatible with my grip. I suspect the designers anticipate a grip where the thumb rests naturally in the middle of the num pad with the pad of the thumb on the 5 key; indeed, in this position clicking all of the buttons does become easier. Still, I am not about to adapt my style to fit a mouse! There are adjustable weights but honestly the difference between empty and filled is not very much. I prefer it with all weights added (because I like my mice heavy) but I fear that if you prefer a feather-weight mouse even with all removed you will not be satisfied. A toggle button on the bottom cycles through five different LED colors. I understand that each color also corresponds to a (configurable) macro set, and certainly each remembers it DPI setting independently. Unfortunately the control software for this mouse is not compatible with Linux and I have not found a working way to alter the mouse behavior on Linux. This is, for me, a deal breaker, because I cant control which key codes are emitted when I use the thumb buttons--and since they correspond by default to keyboard keys I in effect have only three extra buttons on this mouse despite the 16 it has by appearance. The right click button is button2, and the mouse wheel button3, both as usual, but the left click button and the extra button next it are both button1. Since all of the thumb buttons emit by default not button events but regular key events I am obliged to either redo my RPG keybinding layout to accommodate that or suffer redundancy. I could remap the thumb buttons in to hard-to-each keyboard keys that I dont use for anything now, but this is tedious and irritating. Still, this is not an issue on a platform supported by the manufacturer so Im only knocking off one star from the review rather than the 3 that this problem really deserves. For most people this will not at all be an issue. Because of the above problem I did not review the macro capability of them mouse, which is purportedly one of its main selling points. Even without that feature there is a lot to like here: inexpensive, nice and large, comfortable grip, nice action, good weight and feel. For non-gaming and light gaming use I have no problem using this mouse, but for serious gaming where more buttons means more power I cant personally consider it. If I figure out a convenient way to control macros from Linux, or if I find a good way even to remap the key events in to button events, I will report back here and raise the rating.

I originally bought this as a replacement for a near-identical Redragon mouse. The software is near identical as well, basically the same but with switched logos. I dont know if these are shell companies with a common owner, or what. However, in both cases, these were great mice that lasted me multiple years. Im here writing this review nearly 3 years after the fact, because I was checking if this product still existed. My mouse wheels button clicks, but isnt registering M3 inputs. Not the end of the world, since I have M3 on one of the side buttons, but annoying nonetheless. I think I may buy a replacement soon and send this one off to the secondary PC. Ive used this mouse for MMOs, Shooters, RTS games, web browsing, and everything else. When you really learn how to make good keybinding setups, its hard to go back to a normal mouse.

As a previous owner of two separate Razer mice, I am content to say that the Utech Venus is a fine alternative to the Naga. I bought two of these as a replacement for myself and my partner, and theyre working fine after about a month of owning them. Pros: + The programmable MMO side buttons are more comfortable and easier to identify without looking directly at them, due to their shape and curvature - at least compared to the Nagas less pronounced design + The adjustable weights are exactly as expected, with an overall weight that doesnt get too heavy with all of them or too heavy without any + The braided USB cable is sturdy and doesnt get frayed easily and collect dust/lint like my previous mouse + The mouse driver is fairly straightforward and mostly user-friendly. I havent had any issues in using it that other customers claim to have had + The color LED light looks great and is adjustable, meaning it isnt a distraction when playing movies on my computer + The adjustable DPI/acceleration and mouse wheel scroll speed is very handy and on-the-fly, making it less of a hassle to switch between settings if Im browsing websites vs. playing games + Comes with little coated stickers for the feet on the underside of the mouse, to prevent it from getting scratched (handy if you dont have a mousepad, or if your pad is worn out) Cons: - The underside lid for the adjustable weights is a little finicky; Im worried about breaking the mouse sometimes when trying to twist the lid loose to add/remove weights - The teflon material isnt my favorite to the touch (mostly if I accidentally slide my fingernails across it), but its far from a dealbreaker - The color LED doesnt change color automatically. When I read that it has a breathing light setting, I was under the impression that you could have the color LED both pulsate in brightness, as well as automatically rotate between colors (I wanted to have it match my keyboard); unfortunately, it only pulsates in brightness - Though the package I received the mouse in included a disposable USB drive with the driver software on it, the software is out-of-date compared to what the Utech website currently has. Not too big of a deal, considering how easy it is to get the new driver Overall, it does everything I want in a gaming mouse. I got two for the price of just one of my previous gaming mouse. Theres a little extra legwork in getting the driver going. As long as you dont handle your equipment poorly, theres no reason it should have any issues. Ill follow up if it starts to have issues like my previous mice (such as unintentional double/triple-inputs for macros or wheel clicks); I had that issue 1-2 years into owning my previous mice, so hopefully this one outlasts those!

Have a Nostromo n52 GamePad and was wanting more keys so was contemplating getting a Razer Tartarus. Was talking with an in-game friend, Candy Spankwhip, and s/he suggested getting this particular mouse. Okay. Looked it over, read some reviews, and is comparable to Logitechs warranty, so bought it. Am still training the thumb to do its thing. So far am impressed, though the button pushing is not light - but that may change with use. Am still trying to get used to the mouse, and am tempting to try a non-gaming profile to make the trigger/fire button into a Back button for when browsing. Will say the thumb is spoiled from a Logitech G402 mouse as the thumb rest was more comfortable. Yet, this UTechSmarts thumb rest sets under the numbers and suits its purpose. Wished maybe it flared out more to the side. But I think it is more of getting used to a newer mouse. I have medium/large hands with a missing right ring finger, and I have no issues using this UTechSmart mouse as all. Is quite comfortable, and am getting used to the textured surface which does help when the pressure is on! Like had gotten a Skyscale in Guild Wars 2, and took a rift puzzle that had me flying over a cliff, around mobs, over terrain, swooping to and fro, have fire button set to evade for fast leaps forward, and I was at the point of pressing both finger buttons down to keep forward and was under pressure trying to dive (side 4) and rise (side 1) and was still getting used to this. Ran right small into a wall, but recovered. This mouse is FANTASTIC! - had not fared as well with the Logitech mouse that I paid more for. Changed the glow light to orange, and most of the buttons share the same coloration, except the DPI button, its red. No way of changing its color. That is about all I can complain about the mouse. Pulled out all but two weights. Can lift the mouse with thumb over button and pinky finger well, over the oval Leatherman mouse pad am using. The software is quite easy to set up and use. Although I would *strongly* suggest downloading the latest software/drivers package and forget the mini-CD. As had installed the software from the mini-CD first, then upgraded, and found some files could not be over-written. So had to boot to safe mode (Windows 7 x64) to remove the files, then reinstalled in Safe Mode. Booted back up normally and have been using the mouse effortlessly since. Can change mouse setting on the fly, then apply, and close the app. Far more easier than the Nostromo n52 software. Although am still considering getting a Razor Tartarus V2 for the extra row of buttons. For now though, I have this fabulous mouse and theres no rushed to get the Razer. Dont hesitate. For $30 you cannot go wrong!
