I need an engineering degree to operate this.

It is not a bad program (not sure exactly which HGTV I bought, may have been Ultimate (computer no longer works)) but has a few quirks, like you can always see a shadow of the furniture and walls on the floor beneath, which drove me crazy. It also took awhile to figure things out that I think could have been made easier. But at least it has much more flexibility and detail then the Chief Architect Home design essentials which was a complete waste of my money. Guess you have to spend much more to get one that works well. I looked at sketch up and noticed it looks just like HGTVs, the icons and set up looks identical, but I have not tried sketch up at $695!

I have used a few design software packages over the years and by far this is the worst. All of the others are quite tolerable but there are virtually no redeeming qualities to this software. In addition to not being able to draw many different objects typically found in a home such as radiators (though they include other really useful objects such as dumpsters so we can all have one of those in our backyard) they also appear to never have actually lived in a home. For instance the default width for their dishwashers (Im designing a kitchen) is 29 inches. I have owned about 6 dishwashers in my years and they were all 24 inches wide though I do know of a drawer type thats 30. Another reviewer said you would need a month to learn the software. Im going to save money and time. Dont buy this there is nothing here worth learning.

If you believe Norton Anti-virus scanning, do not buy this software. It fails their scanning. Novadevelopment customer service is non-existent.

You can build walls and such, but you have to build the walls, the floors, the ceilings, the roof, etc... room by room.

What a disaster! Spent hours just trying to lay out three planes of a basic rectangular rear yard perimeter block wall with equally spaced pilasters. This is not something super complicated or which should require much time. After wasting a good chunk of an evening, I tried to input a floor plan as it advertises you can - another disaster. I followed every step and yet after many attempts, it either wasnt accepting the format of the original plan or it simply doesnt do what it is advertised to do. DO NOT PURCHASE THIS WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

I bought this software to do a basic home design, after spending countless hours trying to install it, i finally had to contact support to find out why the password/ID did not work. After multiply e-mails and calls to Tech Support i was notified that the program was no longer supported by Nova Development, although they are happy to still sell an unsupported and useless product. Do NOT purchase any product from Nova, period!

Reminds me of Lotus. Not an up-to-date software.

There is a lot to figure out with this program. Be prepared to read and apply

Horrible, horrible, horrible. Downloaded HGTV software. Have three computers, couldnt load it on any of them. Cant get refund. Tech support wants to charge you to help. Dont need to pay them to tell me its incompatible.
