We live in a condo and do not have space to create a compost bin or pile. We can use this and improve our soil while not contribute to landfills. We love it and just sprinkle the compost in the grass or flowerbeds. Great for urban dwellers who want to do their bit for the planet

Nothing to dislike about the replacement filters - the price perhaps? But I knew what that would be before purchasing the FoodCycler. I like getting a warning that the filters need replacing and thanks to Amazon Prime there is no downtime in ordering, receiving, replacing, and using the FoodCycler again.

Why fool around? Get the genuine article when your Food Recycler alerts to replace the pair of filters. These are genuine Vitamix filters.

Just as the headline says, these filters last about nine months. I bought the Vitamix Food Cycler in March of 2022, and here we are in December the same year and the red change filter light has lit up. For reference, I use the unit about two or three times a week. After replacing the filters, you need to press the filter reset button on the back of the machine, while it is plugged in but not running. I didnt realize this, and thought that the red light would be on forever. Its a very easy button to find.

These do a great job of stopping the funky smells that would otherwise come out of the foodcycler, but they dont last long enough to justify the cost of replacements. Instead I suggest you get some granulated activated carbon and refill them yourself! For the same cost youll get enough carbon to refill these a half dozen times. The only mildly tricky part is prying the tops off the first time, but after that its easier. I throw the spent carbon in with my foodcycler waste.

Great product... Every little bit helps my recycler... Would be good if I could recycle ♻️ the filter also...

Very expensive filters that do nothing. We now use our recycler outside rather than chance spending ~ $50 again.
