I have a leopard geko and it was so easy to set up and the app is straight forward

The app is not that great when it comes to setting up schedules. For instance, I have an air cleaner and wax candle warmer that I like to have start and stop multiple times during the day (in thr morn and at night). The vont app doesnt have the ability to have multiple starts and stops. I use another brand that uses the Smart Home app which allows multiple starts and stops during the day.

I had wondered for some time about smart plugs but hesitated to try them out. First off, the setup was quite simple followed the instructions on the card that came in the package of smart plugs to download the Vont Home app to my phone. Then the app took me through the instructions to setup the smart plug and also to link the plug to Alexa. Now able to control the on/off of the light over my recliner through any of my Alexa controlled units. Great fun.

For disclosure I got these from Vont as part of their reviewer program. I love this smart plug so tiny easy to use and setup. The app needs some improvement, but I think they are working on it. One thing I would change is to make them a little bit tinier. Two plugs fit nicely onto one standard outlet, but if you have one of those outlets with USBs ports as well, the plug covers them :( Besides than it is an awesome product!

I love being able to have an easy, low profile physical switch in an outlet. And the additional smart function and ability to turn on / off the unit from my phone is amazing. The ability to have a schedule for an outlet has changed my life for the better. Very happy with this two pack. The packaging of this product is protective, clever, and sleek. honestly the best I’ve seen for any consumer electronics.

I use these to help balance the power drain of some of my appliances and set up lamps to come on automatically in the evening. Some of our appliances are difficult to reach and I love that these smart plugs have the ability to set up timers for my appliances.

Really enjoying my new Vont Smart Plugs, which are an improvement over the first generation of smart plugs I have used. Those earlier smart plugs were bigger and took up both slots of a home electrical wall outlet. Worked fine but too big. These Vont smart plugs are small enough so that each takes up only a single slot. I’m thankful that they were so easy to set up with the app, almost automatic. And so totally effective and convenient, to tell Alexa my on/off commands. Easy, also, to move around the house as needed. One of my new plugs operates a tall floor lamp that I programmed to come on and off by a set schedule each day, and that works as intended. Gonna need more of these…

TLDR (long version below): About the only thing I could get to work right on these plugs was the manual on and off switch. Everything on the app never worked right. The scheduling function never worked basically at all (it would actually randomly switch my lamp on in the middle of the night, waking me up) and while I got the on and off switches on the app to eventually work, it took a while. I contacted their support about my issues and never heard back. Should’ve just bought a switch timer. Long version: I got these plugs because I was looking for something I could easily schedule to turn my lamp on and my fan off in the mornings to help wake me up and get me out of bed. These were not it. They were easy to setup; the main problem came with the app. When I first went to pair the plugs, the app had trouble finding my wifi. Then the plug software needed to update. That took forever (they say you can go off the page when it’s updating but that just ended up stopping the update). Finally, when that was done I went to go turn the plugs on and off on my app. Nothing. I tried unplugging, resetting, etc. Still nothing. The manual switch on them was still working fine, but turning them on and off manually defeats the whole purpose of getting these. Finally I just went to sleep. Tried them the next day. They finally worked, but only if I tried turning them on and off 2-4 times. Since time fixed the problem before, I thought maybe it might fix the problem now. Maybe the new software is causing an issue or something. I gave them a week and during that time looked at their FAQ and around the internet. I didn’t find anything helpful. Finally, the plugs were turning on and off reliably via my app. Now to set up a schedule on the app (the whole reason I got these). Didn’t work. Okay, I’ll give it some time. A few days later, my lamp was turning on and off. In the middle of the night. Randomly. I kept getting woken up from the hours of 1-4AM, when it was supposed to be turning on at 5:30AM. I checked time zones, did troubleshooting, etc. Did the same thing with my fan, which wasn’t turning off at any point despite the lamp and fan being set to turn on at the same time. The scheduling function just didn’t work. Turned the schedule off on my lamp so I could get some sleep, but kept it on for my fan just to see what would happen. A few days later it started to occasionally turn off when it was supposed to, and about a week after that it started to actually obey the schedule most of them time. The lamp was still a lost cause though. I also sent a help ticket in about my plugs since especially the lamp was still acting up and the many hours I had spent researching fixes for these problems had yielded nothing. They said I should get contacted within 24 hours about the issue. I never got contacted. I waited until my return window almost closed just in case they had a backlog and needed extra time. Nope. Ended up returning the plugs.

These are pretty simple to set up and similar to most other smart plugs but I prefer the Amazon smart plugs the most. These sometimes lose connection and need to be reset and relinked to the app but otherwise work as expected.
