The Vox (mic gain) on the highest setting is very sensitive, so I use the next to highest setting for mic gain. The night light is a nice feature. The sound quality of the monitor unit is good, but not hi fidelity. I dont use vibrating alert and I have not had to use the backup battery, so I cant rate those features. Works very well to monitor a room on the main floor when my room is on the 2nd floor.

A few years ago I bought this for my wife who had joint replacement surgery. I put it in the bedroom where she was sleeping, so I could hear if she needed assistance. She just had another surgery recently, so I took it out of the closet, recharged the parent unit, and everythings working fine. Very nice unit, compact size. The parent unit has a little clip, so you can wear it on your person. Also it has a talk back, so you can communicate to your loved one/baby if needed. Im very happy with it.

This is not just for babies. I care for an elderly loved one with dementia. This gives me the ability to move about the house or be in another room for a few minutes without concern for her falling or wandering off. The sound is very clear even on a different floor of our home. I can hear rustling in a bed, movement in a room, or agitating noises and I can speak with her through the parent unit. She can understand me very well through her unit and responds which is often all that is required to offer reassurance. At night with volumes turned up, I am actually able to get some real sleep knowing any disturbance will wake me. Sleep matters: I am less anxious and less keyed up allowing me to be a more loving caregiver the following day. It is hard to articulate how important saving tiny bits of energy can be throughout the day, but this product has been immensely helpful to me. Set up was simple. Im always concerned about these things, and it was a relief to not have to stress about it or have to find help. I cannot say enough about this product. Great VTech sound, affordable, simple set up, and a caregivers little helper. Grateful.

I found I had ordered this back in 2013 and wanted to leave a review that in 2022 (9.5 years later) we still use it nightly for my 9 year old daughter and dog who sleeps in her room. Mind you the battery doesnt hold any charge anymore, we are using another charger, and the screen messages on the receiver are long gone. Yet, it still sounds crystal clear despite both parts having been banged around plenty of times. Would highly recommend!

I bought this product to monitor my newborn in another room when he is sleeping. I use it in conjunction with a baby monitor and it gives me the piece of mind that I can check on my baby at any time. I had an issue with the first one I received and amazon was able to give me a full replacement. The replacement has worked flawlessly. I live in a 3000sq foot house and it seems to connect pretty well throughout the house. It will give you a warning beep if it loses connection at any time. Simply have one monitor close to the baby and keep the other one next to you. It is as simple as that. As long as it shows linked it will transmit any sounds your baby makes. It also has a noise cancellation so that it doesnt transmit the while noise machine that I have running in the background. You can change the sensitivity levels from a range of 1-5. This keeps you from being alarmed at every pin drop but allows you to hear the important cries of the baby. If you feel the need to speak to your baby, you can simply click on the side the talk. It also has a night light feature that lights the handle. Unfortunately, I have not seen a need for this. If I wanted a night light, I would buy a night light. Volume is controlled from 1-5 and also has a light feature to show level of sounds even if you have the volume turned all the way down. The battery seems to least 12 hours of normal usage. Some have mentioned that they would like to use this as a intercom. I think it would be much easier just to have a two way radio than this for an intercom device. So until your baby can yell out his window to tell you his diaper is wet or he is hungry, I recommend this product for the use as a baby audio monitor. Even more so, I recommend buying it from amazon as they provide the added customer support when needed.

This monitor is so good because it alerts you in different ways. From sound, to beeps when the volume is off, vibrate and lights. There is no way that you can miss a sound. Range, sensitivity and clarity are great. You can use it as a Walkie talkie.

I needed to be able to hear my mom from her room, which is on the other side of the house, if she needed help. Had a different monitor previously, but it had a lot of static. This V-Tech works so well. It has 5 volume settings and I able to hear her movement sounds so I know she’s up and about. She feels more relaxed and confident that I can hear her in the middle of the night now. We also like the talk feature on the base unit, because I can let her know I hear her and am on my way to assist her.

This is the perfect monitor that I needed for my Mom. She lives with me now, and I am her care giver. A monitor with a camera would be out of the question. She is 85 yrs old, and has fallen 4 times since living with me. The last time she fell she was screaming for help a couple of hours before I heard her. I bought her a Ive fallen and cant get up device, but she takes it off at night. We also use walkie talkies during the day, but if it is out of reach when she falls, that dont work. One time when she fell, my Hero Dog came and got me right away, but the dog prefers to be outside most of the time, so I cant count on that. Ive never used it while unplugged, so I cant say how good it is on battery power. I really like the push to talk button on my end, my Mom can talk to me without the need to push a button, and I can hear whats going on in her room at night. The sound quality is not superb, but it is loud enough to wake me if she has a problem. One reviewer said he uses this device to monitor his goats, so we call it the goat monitor.
