> 3 dayA few years ago I bought this for my wife who had joint replacement surgery. I put it in the bedroom where she was sleeping, so I could hear if she needed assistance. She just had another surgery recently, so I took it out of the closet, recharged the parent unit, and everythings working fine. Very nice unit, compact size. The parent unit has a little clip, so you can wear it on your person. Also it has a talk back, so you can communicate to your loved one/baby if needed. Im very happy with it.

> 3 dayIve been meaning to leave my review for a while, but today after I dropped this monitor for the 100th time, I said no more! I have to let people know how durable this thing is. I purchased this monitor May 2017 so I could still monitor my cats whenever they are outside on the screened porch since I had put in a pet door, and I love this thing! The base unit has been outside on the lanai for 1 year and 4 months, and Ive had no issues with it. The parent unit with the clip is inside the house on me or near me wherever I am at, or even outside in front of my house far from the lanai if Im doing yardwork (I love the clip on it!). The sound is superb and so clear, it even sometimes picks up my neighbors conversations LOL. This monitor allows me to hear when one of my cats jumps on the screen to chase a squirrel or lizard, even if Im on the other side of the house or out front, and I can then run out to the cat real quick to get them off the screen. Even now as I type this and the monitor is in the kitchen with me, I can hear a breeze blowing, wind chimes softly moving, and the birds outside. I can even hear if its about to start raining because it picks up even just little sprinkles. This thing has truly been a godsend so I can have peace of mind knowing my cats are safe while they are enjoying the fresh air outside (only during the day supervised, they are never out there at night or when Im not home), and I can still move around the house and not have to keep my eye on them 100% the time. The most impressive thing about this monitor is its DURABILITY. This thing is always on me using the clip or placed near me wherever I am at in the house or out front doing chores, and because Im always moving around, this monitor has been dropped on the hardwood floor, tile and concrete driveway outside too many times that I cant even count (see all of the scratches, nicks and marks on the included picture). And it still works just as great as the first day! I would totally recommend this product.

Greater than one weekWe have been very impressed with this monitor set. We replaced a hand me down Sony unit that was just triggering falsely too many times in the middle of the night. PROS - Small - Parent device has a battery - battery lasts for days (seriously...like 3 or 4 before we finally plugged it back in. it may have 5 or 6...just never pushed it) - good voice quality - two-way voice feature (can have a non-yelling discussion with spouse while upstairs in nursery) - belt clip on parent device - good range (I can walk around the outside of the entire house without losing connection) - visual noise/voice indicator - vibrate noise/voice indicator CONS - the volume just isnt quite loud enough on 5 (our old Sony was just as loud if not louder than the baby was when crying) - loses connectivity every once in a while for no reason The volume is loud enough to easily hear at night when the parent unit is in the same room as you. But if you walk out of the room and leave it behind, you may not hear it. Think about getting up in the morning to make breakfast...if the Microwave is on, you wont hear it. We ended up leaving our older Sony unit in the kitchen for that reason. We dont have to carry around a monitor constantly. Every once in a while, the parent unit will lose the connection to the child unit. Our master and nursery are on opposite ends of the house on different floors so we figured it may be just too much material for the signal to go through sometimes. However even when it drops link, I took the parent unit back into the nursery and it kept beeping at me for another 60 seconds. It doesnt appear to be a range issue, but more than likely just one of the units freaking out for a short-period. It doesnt do it enough to return the device, just enough to annoy me enough to note it in the review.

> 3 dayAs a sound monitor it is fine, maybe equal to a more expensive model, maybe not. It is more than adequate for my needs, especially at such a great price. Baby monitors in the ToysRUs were twice the cost and looked cheaper. Out of the gate, the rechargeable battery wouldnt recharge, the VTech replaced it overnight with a working model. Very impressive response! The nightlight on the handle of the baby unit does not stay on past about 15 minutes unless you set the auto-lock to yes. The instruction book is long, but important to read well or you will miss important settings info on the menu. I like that you can use the adapter on the parent unit for power if the battery gets low or dies. It only seems to be able to recharge fully when unit if off, not while in use, but with this newer one, the battery is doing fine. Multiple volume settings, vibration alert and sound beep alert when the baby unit has sound activity. What I like is that it picks up noises NEAR the unit and tends NOT to pick up noises farther away, distant, which is a good thing. We have lots of sirens where I live but I do not hear them loudly at all, since they are literally mostly in the distance. Note: I dont use this for baby monitor, but the quality is good for one. I use this for an outdoor kitty who I cannot hear when she is outside and crying to be let in, now I can hear her and get her in before she panics. Plus I can hear my neighbors, UPS deliveries, whatever is out there beyond my sight and indoor hearing. My favorite bonus on this is that I can be inside and listen to all the birdsong from outside. In the mid-fifties (yes, the 1950s!) we used to have an indoor/outdoor monitor to listen to the morning birds while having breakfast in the kitchen. Nice to be enjoying that again. Very clear. No ambient noise indoors, but outdoor has ambient noise from all the outdoor chaos, the wind and traffic.

> 3 dayWe bought this when we moved into a place with two levels. We only need to use it for a couple of hours a day/night when baby is asleep and were awake and upstairs. The battery life is good, weve only needed to charge it a few times, despite having it over a month now. Everything works as expected. The distance it stays connected has been impressive (Ive walked outside with the parent monitor without an issue). The baby unit does need to stay plugged in in order for it to work.

> 3 dayWe have had this monitor for three years. Three years of continuous use. We leave the parent unit plugged in all day by our bed, unplugging for a few hours every night to take to the living room so we can listen if the kiddos need us. We ran conduit up the wall to cover the cord, and have the room unit hanging up out of the way. The kids can hear us well when we talk to them through the monitor, and know they can call for us if they need to. Saves a lot of trips back and forth at bedtime. It’s been a solid little monitor, never an issue, and would definitely buy it again if needed (knocking on wood right now, just in case I jinxed myself). Highly recommend!

Greater than one weekI bought this a couple of months ago and seems to be working great. It had unlinked from the other monitor 1 time but I turned it off and on and took it close to the one in the other room and that did it for them to relink. The one thing I don’t like is that one of them has to be connected at all times or else it won’t work. There is a portable one that can utilize the rechargeable battery but it would be nice if both were portable. I also don’t really like that sometimes it will make a loud beep even with the most minimal noise it detects.other than that it’s pretty efficient, doesn’t take to much space and it’s nice that you can talk from one room ti the other by pressing the button on the side. It was a good purchase I really like it.

> 3 dayI needed to be able to hear my mom from her room, which is on the other side of the house, if she needed help. Had a different monitor previously, but it had a lot of static. This V-Tech works so well. It has 5 volume settings and I able to hear her movement sounds so I know she’s up and about. She feels more relaxed and confident that I can hear her in the middle of the night now. We also like the talk feature on the base unit, because I can let her know I hear her and am on my way to assist her.
