Another great comic made bland by Hollywood. Thanks for taking a great idea and pissing on it. Dont worry it has splosions and f-ects for those who cant read the comic...

Great movie

Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy, who impressed me in The Last King Of Scotland till I learned his character didnt exist in real life) is a young twenty-something whos life is droll and predictable. He suffers from what he thinks are panic, headache-like attacks whenever hes provoked. Then one day he finds out through a mysterious woman (Angelina Jolie, who seems a little too old to play this Lara Croft look-a-like at this point) that hes the son of a former gone-rogue member of an elite group of assassins called Fraternity, who have special abilities of quick reflexes and healing powers. Brought in by the groups leader (Morgan Freeman collecting one Hell of a paycheck here), hes told of his past, very quickly trained in a variety of wild and unbelievable murderous ways, and is sent on a mission to use his new sharpshooter skills to kill the man that murdered his father. But is the team hes on the good guys or not? Good question. Wanted is a fun but highly unbelievable story featuring some crazy CGI-filled stunts that base the movie in the fact that you can shoot a bullet like a MLB curve-ball. Cars are flying all over the place, trains are derailing with good guys barely getting a scratch, and heroes getting stabbed in the hand and sharp-shooting perfectly the next. In fact, if this movie reminded me of anything, take all of the Sci-Fi aspects of the first Matrix film, smarten-up Keanu a bit, and you have the first hour of Wanted to a tee. This definitely is one of those leave your logic at the door type of over-the-top films. But unlike the previous years Shoot Em Up, this one will have you groan the phrase Oh, cmon on, than say it with glee. At times its well-placed humor is put interestingly, but overall its hard to believe plot and impossible in the real world stunts might be too much to fully keep you in the movie. Concerning the single-disc edition, I can barely suggest it as an informative rental, much less a purchase. The SD picture and audio do live up to those standards, but outside of 6 minutes of start-up trailers (which cant be chosen afterwards), this disc has nothing but movie. But the movie does have alot of eye-candy in it, and will keep you entertained, but you gotta wonder, if your shirt had a few misstitching in it, is it trying to tell you a code to kill a certain person? No I didnt think so. Pros: *Alot of wacky, cool car chases and bullet travels in this movie, but really its a bit too much to be believed. *James McAvoy proves you dont have to be Shia LaBeouf to play a 20-something in the wrong place at the wrong time in 00s movies. *If youre a fan of Freeman and Jolie, well.....theyre in this movie. Just think how they laughed all the way to the bank on this one. Cons: *The Oh, Cmon! factor is very high here. *The ending, though at times clever, makes you think these guys take their job way too seriously. *Though shes only five years older than McAvoy in real life, seeing these two kiss makes you hum the rock classic Hot For Teacher. Hope he got at least a B for that performance there. (RedSabbath Rating:7.0/10)

While a film that echos the Matrix original, there are some spectacular and unrealistic effects that the film does pull off if you leave your sense of reality behind. I enjoyed the film tho it doesnt rank up there anywhere near close to my favorites. The video transfer is excellent, great resolution and clarity with no aliasing and deep shadow details. The DTSHD audio doesnt make the best use of the surrounds in so far as discreet audio coming from any of the surrounds. The soundtrack clearly overpowers any foley sounds that may have come from them. There is some side to side audio transitioning as well as front to back but, like Saving Private Ryan, the bullets should be falling left and right all over the discreet channels. Of course, with such a movie the sub woofer does get a great workout. The extras include an alternate opening scene, which after seeing, I agree that it should not have been used. The making of special effects shorts are all well documented and interesting as well. I would have probably been just as happy to have this film in the standard def format but have not had an opportunity to compare. Its a fun movie, not to be taken seriously but, in blu ray, a real pop corn film. All my movie reviews are of this nature and focus only on the quality of the transfer to BluRay so check them and see if they are of help as well. Hopefully, this review has been of some help to you in determining your purchase, hope I am on the correct path with a review of the transfer quality as opposed to providing plot summaries. Thanks

My husband and I enjoyed the science fiction/action packed storyline and the amazing special effects but the sexual content makes it impossible to watch it with the children. The DVD arrived in very good condition as advertizes and promptly. Thank you.

I could watch this fin action ride in ce a month and enjoy it every time on a big screen Agelie looks SSSSSSSouch burned me hot and plays her part well as to be expected . By it cheap youll.like it

The service was excellent. I didnt enjoy the movie. Wasnt very good acting and the plot wasnt very good, it rambled too much.
