For whatever reason my ps4 stopped recognizing the external hard drive. Not worth your money. Just save up for something better to be honest. Ive officiallly stopped giving a duck about sony’s gaming console. Please do me up a solid & avoid buying useless products. Thank you.

Bought this item for extra storage space on an Xbox one s it was easy to setup and walks you through step by step.

Passport X was just released a couple weeks ago, and Amazon has been offering it for $99, which is $40 under MSRP. At $99, this is an ok buy, but its much less so at $139. This is the first drive Ive connected to the XB1, so I cant tell you if its faster than other cheaper non-gamer models that have been on the market for a while, but it seems ok, not mind blowing. This drive doesnt come pre-loaded with backup software that other externals do, but since the drive is reformatted by the XB1 when you first plug it in I dont really think that it even matters whether theres existing software on the drive or not. The plug and play capability is nice, but again, Im pretty sure that is not a feature unique to this drive. Since Western Digital doesnt mention exactly why this drive is beneficial to gamers, I have to suspect if this isnt just a normal external from another line with a case that matches the XB1 and a daring X slapped on it offered at an inflated list price.

I dont have a PS4 but I did need a backup drive for my Macbook so I thought Id try this out.

Great 4 TB drive. I use on my ps4. Easy to setup and easy to use. I have a ps4 slim. Easy instructions when you plug usb in to ps4 for the first time. You can make the storage the primary if you want. One thing to note is before you shut off the ps4 you need to “stop” the hard drive first before you shut down the system. Just like disconnecting a usb on the computer. Go to sounds /devices and find “stop using storage “. Click on it and your done. Then shut down the ps4. Very happy with purchase. I recommend it for the extra game storage. It holds a lot and frees up space on your internal hard drive
