Works just fine. Worth the price for a ton more space.

So far no problems. Purchase for the xbox 1 & have not had any issues. Nice to have so much storage & not worry about downloading again.

I bought this for my son when I realized he had to download the games again every time he wanted to play. He bought his Playstation 4 by himself so I guess I didnt realize at first that theres no physical games for the system. You have to download them. When I realized how ridiculous it is cause it takes up alot of storage which is why he had to keep deleting and then adding the games again (and it can take hours to download) I looked up how to get more storage and came across these and bought it for my son. Hes so happy that he no longer has to delete and reinstall the games now.

Ordered one of these and liked it. Enough so that I decided to order another one, unfortunately the second one was not operable. It allowed me to apparently put data on it, but it would then lock me out if I closed that window. When I tried to reopen it, it would tell me the drive was corrupted or incorrectly formatted. So, I tried to format it, and no luck. So... not sure where I am with regard to this particular device. Well see if the exact replacement actually ends with my having an operable drive. Fingers crossed.

While I openely admit that I do not recommend hard drives this small for next gen systems, unless your a gamer that doesnt buy a lot of games or movie/tv content or doesnt mind deleting games and reinstalling them if you have the desire to play them again later on, this is still a great hard drive for consoles. The reason I dont recommend this small of a HD for next gen systems is the size of the games, DLC, and updates are growing at incredibly fast rates. 10gb day one updates are becoming more and more common. Add that to game sizes that can run between 40-50GB, and DLC that can easily add another 15+GB by the time all of the DLC has been released and your easily looking at up to 75GB+ per retail game and that is only going to grow as this genration continues forward. Once you get to a 2 TB external HD, each additional TB that you add on from that point forward is actually really cheap. The difference between a 2TB external and a 4-5TB external is not that much at all.

I bought a 2TB device for my 500GB PS4. I installed a few games on it and I can say I was very happy playing a few games I haven’t played in a while. It wasn’t until I played Code Vein off of it I noticed audio would skip at the beginning of almost every sentence spoken by a NPC and partner. These audio issues were not present when installed on the PS4 itself. I couldn’t find any information regarding this issue online. So I don’t know if it was a faulty external drive, or Code Vein just doesn’t run right off of it. Don’t want to find other games having issues, so refunded.

Does what youd expect it to. After having a bad experience with Samsung and Seagate hard drives in the past WD has never let me down and I chose to go for this one. Initially I did have some issues. Plugged it into the PS4 only to be told not compatible and must be USB 3.0 only which had me feeling I was ripped off! Turns out the PS4 has two different types of USB ports. Plugged it into the correct slot and once formatted (in about 30secs) was ready to use. Easy to set up. 2Tb more than enough and at that price its cheaper than others. Only reason I have given it 4 stars is because the Transfer rate is a bit slow and a very bright LED light is a bit unpleasant at night.

    Worth it

When the capacity on your PS4 console’s hard drive is not enough to conquer boundless new worlds, you can expand your capacity by up to 4TB with the WD Gaming Drive. Setup is easy. Just connect the WD Gaming Drive to a PS4 console using a USB 3.0 cable. With some quick formatting, you’re game-on in next-to-no time.
