Bought a heat sink separately, stuck it in the PS5 and now I have all my favourite games ready to go.

Oh these are fast... once you have all the proverbial plates spinning that is. Western Digitals Dashboard program/app need to have the SN850 set to Game Mode (reboot required), the motherboard needs to support PCIe Gen4 and 4 channels in the M2 slot, the CPU needs to support PCIe Gen 4, the motherboard firmware setting for the M2 slot needs to be set to enable Gen4.

If you are looking for one of the faster SSDs going into 2022 this is it. Extremely fast and easy to keep cool with pretty much any type of motherboard heatsink or after market one, its an easy recommendation for any PC or PS5 Storage upgrade.

Bought this drive to expand my PS5’s memory (the native SSD runs out so fast…). Mounted it with one of the generic heatsinks off of Amazon and it simply works perfectly. Run speed north of 6500/MBs (can’t recall the exact number), moving games around was super fast and easy and running PS5 games (and PS4 games for that matter) feels just as fast and smooth as the native SSD.

Habe die SSD zur Speichererweiterung meiner Playstation 5 gekauft und dafür funktioniert sie Tadellos. Preis/Leistung ist angemessen.

Very fast

I have this and the sn850x at 2tb. My crystaldisk mark benches shows they perform the same within 95% confidence ANOVA. In some run instances, the SN850 beats the SN850x.
