I bought this internal SSD to use as an external SSD and am very glad that I did. The savings on using this as an external SSD compared to buying a dedicated external SSD is about 40% in my experience. I bought this and installed it inside the QGeem Hard Drive enclosure and, viola, instant external SSD. I transferred 60gb of data in 10:29! That is right at 6gb per second as advertised. You wont go wrong buying this.

Using as system drive for Dell Optiplex 9020

Needed an SSD to upgrade to Mac OS Mojave, since apple is forcing the new APFS filesystem on everyone, and APFS makes traditional hard drives crawl. Have had good luck with WD hard drives, this is my first SSD. Will try to remember to update this in a year or two. UPDATE: Drive started registering errors in Jan 2020, so about 6 months usage. Not really worth the money. After reading several reviews I replaced it with a (smaller capacity) WD Blue SSD. So well see how that goes.

The write speed is not so fast. It reads in a very good speed but the writes are slow.
