Greater than one weekA couple years ago I bought a Dell Inspiron laptop (I3) processor with the intention of using it as a spare. The PC suffered from lousy boot times-as much as 35 minutes. I couldnt fix that in task manager. I tried replacing the standard 1tb HD with a WD Green 1tb hard drive. Boot time is <1 minute (ca 30 seconds). The computer has fast snappy response. Installation took 2.5-3 hrs. I used Acronis to clone the HD. It spent a very long time preparing the source disk. Maybe 30 minutes writing to the WD SSD target. It took 15 minutes to swap the drives. 10 of that 15 minutes was looking for a screw that fell out, hit the table and bounced into some unknown dimension. Initial boot up with the SSD was without problem and took less than a minute. The laptop has performed flawlessly and blazingly fast compared to the original drive. I read the reviews on Blue VS Green ssd drives. If I were going to use this laptop for high i/o, intensive use, I probably wouldnt have bought the Green. But then this laptop wouldnt be Dell with an I3 processor. The estimated life expectancy of the green is up to 1.0 million hours. thats just under 115 years. The blue would last just under 200 years. I may be sorry in 2135. This is the 3rd laptop Ive replaced the original drive with an SSD. Ive had one failure. It was up and running within a couple of hours of getting the replacement drive. The bottom line is this SSD made this laptop usable.

> 3 dayThis WD Green SSD sucks. Only lasted about a year and out of the blue crashed and burned. I use mostly WD Blue SSD but they were out of them at the time so I had to buy a Green WD SSD. I will never buy buy one again. I have two identical laptops one with Green DSSSD and one with BLue SSD. the BLue SSD has been firn for over 2 years. Green is dead and I coudl nto even recover data off of it.

> 3 dayInitial Review Mar 12, 2021 I bought this drive for use as a USB 3.0 connected NAS style drive on our WiFi router. There are two things for which my wife and I like to share access which includes all of our family photos, and all of our family budget information. The photos consume over 350GB so we needed a larger drive. This drive had a read speed of 451MBs when plugged directly into the desktop computer. It had a read speed of about 100MBs when connected to the USB 3.0 port on the WiFi router. Ive had good performance and reliability with WD drives so this was an easy choice. The price was right at $89 too. I recommend this drive.
