> 24 hourThe colors were more vibrant than I would have liked. Was going to use them for painting landscape on the go during hikes, but will now be using them for coloring cartoons figures. Half pans jostle around in the tray a bit, but the quality of the paint itself was pretty good. Hardly require any wetting! Brushpen was semi-faulty.

> 24 hourI bought this set many years ago at Michaels. I did a swatch then (the small one with green writing) and the colors seemed faded and not as vibrant. Dont know if its the paper, not enough paint/too much water, or simply the testament to time. (Set was hardly taken out.) If you want something to just play around with as a beginner, you CAN get this set, but honestly feel you can do better with another brand for the same price (or lower!) Also, this set in particular seems so weird. They couldve done without the white and the gray or black. There was only 1 yellow. (I assume thats why there is another set.)

> 24 hourI love this set. Enjoy it myself and bought it as gifts. Very easy and convenient to use. Colors produced are beautiful. Only wish the brush inside were of a bit better quality. It leaks when try to paint details.

> 24 hourUpdate: I regret choosing this palette as a beginner, both for the size and color variation. Over time I felt like I could not get vibrant mixes and wondered why. Its the lack of warm colors . I definitely should have bought the Sketchers Pocket or similar. Im still learning but 3 of the half pans are done, Id be better off buying cheap tubes first to experiment then the Sketchers Pocket . As shared before, this palette is small but I did not checking measurements before. Other than that the amount of paint in each pan is inconsistent. Some pans fall out constantly if the container is shifted while others stay put. I also wish I was able to see the names of the colors above the pans or in the box because without water most are so dark its hard to differentiate.

> 24 hourI have been very pleased with this little brush pen set. Even though it is student grade and not professional paint, it still has beautiful, vibrant colors. I love to paint while sitting on my back porch and it is so easy to grab and go. I am running out of a few of the colors and will be ordering another set soon. I didnt really like the brush pen, but already have several sets of my favorites so this isnt a big deal to me. The paint alone is well worth the price. I would highly recommend this product.

> 24 hourSuch a lovely set of watercolors. Here are my personal pros and cons. PROS: -Great quality paint-- vibrant and blendable -Color selection is good-- two wonderful shades of blue, very bright yellow hue, grassy green and bluish green, a very pigmented purple, and a white is included as well - the individual paints are in removable pans, allowing you to arrange them how you wish and to replace pans - the design of the container keeps the paint pans in place no matter how hard you shake it. In most metal palettes, even very high quality ones like Sennelier, the pans can easily fall out of their intended places and jumble around. This Winsor and Newton palette keeps all the pans snug in their spots securely. - a great travel option - the water brush doesnt look like much, but is actually capable of a lot! To test this brush, I went several weeks using it as my primary brush. It is small but it works quite well for lots of different techniques, aside from large washes, which you will always want a big mop-style brush for. -the mixing area stays flat when you open it, so the paints dont run or pool at the the bottom CONS: -the cakes of paint can fall out of the pans, but this can easily be avoided by exercising a bit of caution -you cant really get a good orange with the paints in this palette. The red provided is more of a pinkish red than a yellowish red, so it creates a bit of a muddy orange when mixed with yellow. The burnt sienna can be used to make a suitable autumn orange, but you cannot get a bright, sherbet-hued orange with the colors provided. Overall - I love this set and am glad that I purchased it.

> 24 hourI wanted to try Winsor and Newton Cotman for a good while before I found this pallet. Im sure it is worth 5 stars but it is lacking something for me. Unfortunately, I have not figured out what yet! I find that I am gravitating back to other brands that I have had for awhile. It may just be that I am familiar with them and thus more comfortable. Maybe it is the color selection. The jury is out. The value is outstanding so dont let my lack of that 5th star stop you from trying this set. It is perfect for a travel pallet.

> 24 hourGreat colors though you cant really tell whats what unless you use it sometimes so theres risk of using the wrong color. Color looks different on paper.

> 24 hourI had the one with the tiny paint brush for 5 years and it’s still doing good! Good quality! Love love love! Make sure to leave the lid open to allow them to dry properly.

> 24 hourI am a beginner and I’ve used cheap paints and I can tell the difference. These paint set doesn’t dry fast in the pan which means you don’t need to wet it over and over to get some paints out of the pan. When I received it I was shocked because the photo on Amazon is big but the paint box is too small for what I was expecting. It’s a little over 3 x 5 inches. And half pans are small. As a beginner I didn’t know this. I thought oh good I won’t get stuck with old paints in case I don’t like it. But no. I started painting and I was digging my brush in the pan lol because I was used to doing that with my cheap paints. With this WN cotman paint you need to gently dab your brush to the paint pan because the paints are soft and creamy. You will get a lot of paints with just a touch of the brush. I was using the #000 brush from WN and it’s a small brush but I get a lot of paint that I could mix with a lot of water. What that means is I would be stuck to this paint for a long time because you don’t need a lot of it. It’s thick and really good paint. I would buy this again. I actually choose this set because I don’t need a lot of colors that looks like duplicates.
