> 3 dayRachel Starr Thomson creates amazing worlds; Ive enjoyed each book of hers Ive read to date, and this is no exception. Bought it a while back, then splurged this week and purchased the entire series plus another series shes created. This is the second time Ive read this novel. The author draws us quickly into a world where the forgotten is becoming known once more, and the unseen becoming clear - to some, at least. A very enjoyable alt medieval universe, good vs evil tale. Looking forward to reading the next book in this series!

love to read
> 3 dayI loved this book. I thought the characters were relate able and interesting, the story was great and the world was imaginative and thoughtful. I usually dont review things because I know only five stars are helpful and I cant give five stars, but this one I wanted to.

> 3 dayWant a little fresh breeze of beauty and courage? I read this trilogy curled up by the Christmas tree, on the bus crisscrossing Jerusalem, even walking home down our very steep and winding road, bursting into a grin at the last line. I keep thinking of them as songs for the weary heart. I needed an oasis and a fresh inrush of courage, and this time it came through Rachels writing, with all its bracing beauty.

Greater than one weekRachel Starr Thomson is now my favorite author! With writing that is much in the same light as THE Tolkien, Ms Thomson weaves an entrancing tale that leaves the reader slightly breathless and wanting more... on to book two of the series!!

> 3 dayI was so impressed by the plot-line and characters in this series of books, of which this one is the first. All three of them kept me up late reading and reading to see what happened next. The allegorical references were subtle, but very powerful. I highly recommend this book and its sequels. I am thrilled to have found them!

> 3 dayWhat an incredible book to read. This book was on point from beginning to end. I just love it. Never a dull moment. I had moments of sadness because the story is so well written and the poems are really deep. I couldnt help but to like the story. My hat off to the author. Thanks!

> 3 dayI had just read a book that was interesting but wasn’t very well written, so after I finished that book I really wanted to find a series that I could really appreciate, and this book series was it. I have read this book and I’m in the process of reading the second book, and by what I have written so far it is much better written then the book I mentioned before, the storyline is also very interesting and creative. I am very glad that I found and read these books and look forward to reading the rest of the series. Thank you Rachel for a clean and wonderful read.
