The heat lamp was perfect! Exactly what I was looking for.

This bulb is a perfect combo with the small 5 dome with ceramic socket as it is only safe up to 75 watts but they recommend not using a bulb over 70 watts.

I don’t understand why it doesn’t even give off a lot of heat. The purpose to use for chick brooder with temp of 95 degrees F. I purchase a lamp that have a dimmer which I had it on full wattage, waited, still not hot enough. I had used an heat light bulb with the lamp w/ dimmer which works better to get temp I want. Although rather used this which is more safer and used less energy. Maybe I have a bad one. Anyone experience the same thing? I thought this 60 watt will still give a lot of heat.

I am modifying this review from a one star to a two star for good customer service. When they read my poor review of the heat lamp, they refunded my money. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Very poor heat output. I can touch the bulb at its hottest - never above 70F right under the bulb - and the switch was broken when I got it. Move on to another product.

Great value. Works great for poultry and is less of a fire hazard than those red bulbs.

Updating to say the heater almost caught my floor on fire. I have since heard from several other people that have had very similar incidents. The heater is severally hot. My son had it dangling about an inch above the floor while he fed and cleaned out the cage and smoke was radiating off of my floor and left a huge burn mark. Be extra careful- if I had missed it for one more minute it would have started a fire. I ordered this mostly for the thermostat but it’s a cheap digital one so parts of the numbers don’t light up so you cant tell what the temperature really is. Not worth it. Spend a little more to get better quality

I have this on the hot side of my snake tank (36/18/18) and it makes it about 10° warmer than the cool side on average. Theres also a heat mat on the hot side so the heat increase likely isnt entirely from the lamp. You can feel the heat going away after about 10. Perfect when you just need a little heat boost.
