It really expands and makes a lot. I think it is a good product to add to my Hermit Crab habitat. Kind of messy but I would buy it again.

Get a lot of bedding for aquarium, to change 3 times.

The crabs love it. We have 5 and the all buried themselves and molted for a month as soon as I put it in. The love to dig. Have a big bucket to mix. It grows 5 times its size.

Seems like it will work really well. Shouldve gotten 2 though for my crabs 10 gal tank. Cause i didnt pay attention to the size .... My bad

Hermit crabs seem to enjoy very much.

My daughters hermit crab seemed depressed the last 6 months we have had him, we have had him for 9 months all together. Not really knowing how hermit crabs are actually supposed to live we picked him up on a beach vacation with gravel and a small tank. Well I noticed he would just sit in his corner constantly the last 6 months and never come out ever only to eat and drink, and was quick to hide away. I bought a hut for him to hide under but he still hid back in that one corner. Poor crab was stressed. It was time to do something new. I bought this stuff, little bit larger cage and I’ve never seen him move around and dig so much. He is happy! He has dug all kinds of holes and he even uses his hut now to burrow in. I’m glad i did research and I bought this stuff.

Takes a little patience but great for crabbies.

I recommend it purely because my crabs seem to love this stuff. I barely saw them for a month or two until i changed their bedding, no exageration to say that every time i walk by the crab tank now they are crawling around which i can only assume is down to this new bedding. Much cheaper than you can get it in the store too.

This stuff is nice, but….there was a bug…yes alive…I’m not sure how it survived, but when I added water and let it sit, a little black beetle thing emerged. No it wasn’t in the bowl before. Just be careful. I have no idea what it was. Looked harmless, but god only knows where it came from.
